Cleveland Browns (official thread of Masochism 2015)

Nope. You are not missing anything.

Thanks. I was guessing it was a tip to the home State, but seemed rather odd word choice to make for a player straight out of college.

Love that move by the Browns. No downside and a lot of upside. Some scout said that he tests out as basically a faster Kelvin Benjamin, which is a pretty nice prospect to get for free.

The only strange thing is that he is also the best quarterback on their roster.

Had the exact same thought... but I wouldn't wish that job on my enemies right now. So I'm happy to have him as an "athlete". With the exception of drafting Manziel, it seems like the front office has improved a lot -- especially compared to the years of Phil Savage' obsession with shitty ACC players.
Hopefully it's not just a case like the Indians dumpster diving though.

He's a freak athlete, but has never played WR at all. Definitely worth a flier, but I'd say the odds are stacked heavily against him.

Worst case scenario... he has the hands of Braylon Edwards w/o throwing away the #3 pick overall 8D
Like the idea of adding him and Wynn and getting some competition going at a spot where the 2 established guys are possession receivers (along with the only draft pick). Both Wynn and Pryor also add something a little different.
Even if only one sticks, it's a net positive imo. If he's as rusty as we all expect, it's still worth a shot on the practice squad and get him working on drills imo. Chances worth taking.

I highly suspect Pryor can catch.. my only concern will be alligator arms cuz he never liked contact.. and some DB will gladly take an Unnecessary Roughness to completely take him out of his game... however, I'm really excited about this move and that they Brownies have him

That's going to be the biggest key. If they are serious about moving him to WR I think they need to start his route tree slow and keep him out of situations where he is going to get lit up going over the middle. He has great straight line speed, but so-so acceleration. IMO the goal should be to get him moving. If he proves he can catch he will stretch the field just by running down the sideline. He's basically a TE with 4.4 speed going against 5'10" CB's so they would have to cheat a safety to him. Maybe motion him across the formation so he gets a head of steam and then streak him down the sideline with Hawk or Gabriel starting outside and looking for a hole in the zone inside.

He would be worth keeping as a 5th WR just to do this in the red zone
