I agree but I wonder how his offensive scheme which is quite different than Shanty's will affect the offensive play or if there will not be that much difference at all since that was the first year those guys have played the ZBS.

I suspect the ZBS would stay the same. Although the base offense would most likely be 11 personnel.

Passing game would be a bit different, I'm sure.

There's no reason to be upset about Shanahan leaving, he wasn't good at all. The reason to be upset, is that this franchise just finished its 16th season of this endless death march, and staff turnover is still a problem. Until the boobs in charge of this circus can put together a staff that they aren't firing all or parts of every single year, and somehow find a capable NFL QB, the clowns will remain a peon in the NFL. Just more of the same.

I'm not too upset. I think Haslam has his man in Pettine. The guy has handled himself with great aplomb given he's a rookie head coach. We just improved our win margin after suffering a slew of injuries and while we once again
went on a losing streak to end the season. I can't say that it was in the similar fashion of the team not giving effort down the stretch. They fought hard even in the season finale.

There are far more positives to take away then with previous seasons. Now if Haslam can keep his nose out of the War Room and let Farmer do his job, I expect a couple difference makers to appear from this draft.

I fear that this death march continues as long as Haslam is the owner. He, to me at least, seems to be one of the biggest problems. He is the head guy who wants to employ others to do a job and then instead of letting them do the job, he wants to do it himself...and poorly. What the rest of the staff does is okay unless Haslam feels differently and then it's what Haslam wants. So what's the point? He is the owner, I get that. But he is just an owner, not an expert. The Browns need to assemble a staff, yes. Can Haslam assemble that staff, not so sure. He just doesn't seem to know how to run a successful organization and I wonder if that will keep the good football minds and motivators from coming here. Anyone else have that same feeling?

you would have a point, if the guys he hired didnt have backgrounds of causing trouble with other teams they were employed with. Banner was a known Ahole, but he was part of the group that owns the browns he basically hired himself. then Shanahan was a known crybaby-daddys boy in Washington, but Pettine got hired so late he was the best option left.

Haslam needs to hire more Farmer/Pettine types then Banner/Shanahans. Guys that just get sh*t done and dont worry about doing anything but their own job.
