Cleveland Browns (official thread of Masochism 2015)

It accomplishes shifting attention away from a super bowl champ caught deliberately breaking rules again.
Protect the shield.

I think he could be successful in a specific situation... everyone insisted manziel could duplicate Wilson's above average but Mariota is who they should've been talking about.

Winston would be a slam dunk if not for his other issues. We just went down a much safer road with Gordon.
Grayson did have a phenom at WR and a RB transfer McElwain brought from Bama... that offense had legit talent that'll be drafted.

I'm going to stop you right there. Aside from a small handful, nobody wanted Manziel nor believed he could duplicate Wilson's success.

And Grayson had two nice weapons on offense, but from what I gathered a shitty Oline. Kid has toughness in the pocket despite not being the biggest of QB's.

Bunch of my browns buddies were posting articles from the CPD discuss the change of the Browns Logo.

Clicking on the links, all anyone was talking about was swooping up to take a WR in the 2nd round. Dorial Green-Beckham was the name most people targeted since he's 6'5 and athletic as hell.

I thought - you have got to be kidding me. You'd go from one idiot who fails every single drug test imaginable to another one that does the exact same thing.

fits the mold of Browns drafting WRs .... hasn't played football for a year... thats worth ATLEAST a 2nd rounder on the Browns board.

I should've been more specific ... not everyone here per se, but the media was all over that angle. Especially the world leader

I like Grayson, but don't think he fits that MAC QB stereotype that a lot of us like. McElwain surrounded him with P5 talent.

Including the Oline. His LT is projected as a 1st or 2nd round pick this year, and the RG will play Sundays too.

we talking last two games Wilson I would say Manziel is could easily duplicate that ....

Wilson isn't anything special... he's a product of a great running game... if they lose Lynch and pay Wilson it'll be a mistake..

While I agree that Wilson benefits from Beastmode, he has shown the ability to really impact games with both his arm and legs. Like any other QB, he has his bad games, and of course may not look as strong without Lynch, but he's a pretty damn good QB. It's not a coincidence that Seattle became a title contender when he became the QB.

I casually followed him while he was at NCST.... before he pulled the free agent card... Not convinced he's that good of a QB... plus he made multiple gaffs at wisky.. including the one that cost them the Rose... i'd say the last couple of years are more of a statistical anomaly to me...

Don't forget the defense. Wilson is a game manager all the way... but in the NFL even that's not easy to come by.
They also do a lot to put him in the right situation.... except apparently at the goal line. =P
Mariota needs that same kind of tailoring imo. And weapons. While Wilson does have Alexander, their WR corps disappeared onto oblivion this year.

Good on McElwain. I'm still not seeing the issue here. If he was given some better talent, then he certainly produced with it.

That said, their LT and RG are
Projected high picks? Fooled the shit out of me. Those guys got
torched by Utah and most of the time Orchard ( whom I like in the 2nd) was dropping into coverage.

If they draft Dorial Green-Beckham, then they truly have learned nothing from the Gordon debacle. They're basically the same person.

I kinda hope they do draft him for the lulz.

I was pissed when we took Johnny Jackass last year. I can only imagine how bad I might be if this team considers sinking ANY of their picks from the first 3 rounds into that guy.

What's amazing to me about the Gordon situation is that he and Dez Bryant were basically the same person at the draft. The only difference is Dallas (someone correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading this) hired someone to basically take Dez around and make sure that he keeps his nose clean. Dez stayed out of trouble and is now one of the best WRs in the league. The Browns didn't do enough and now instead of having a top 5 WR, they have a liability. The organization counts for a lot more than smart drafting.
