Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

Makes me scream that there is so much out there saying Browns have no choice but to trade everything and start over
You don't get Myles Garretts, Denzel Wards and Nick Chubbs in their prime
So looking at another 5 years of being trash

Unless they somehow luck into the next Tom Brady they are going to be trash for the next 5 years regardless, but I don't see them trading those 3 unless there is an offer that can't be refused.

LOL Yup

The one week bounce for Jameis and Jim Donovan is over and they are back to being themselves.

Edit: Frankly - I'm glad Garrett is going off too, maybe they can trade him and get something back before the deadline. Same for Ward and anyone else with a pulse. It's rebuild time baby!
Fuck that. He needs to retire in the orange and brown. And fuck rebuilding. There are some good pieces here and no need to go back to the loser mentality of tearing everything down like that ever generates improvement to the franchise.

Garrett & Ward should absolutely demand a trade or else they're just gonna Joe Thomas their careers.
Why is that a bad thing? Joe Thomas loved it here despite the losing. What good franchise craters every five years like the Browns have done since the return. We have a solid coach, Berry can be a good GM. We can't do shit about the fucks that own the team but it's in a better spot than we have seen it over the last 25 years. Time to grow up and be a big boy franchise that doesn't stomp on our toys when they don't do what we want.

I don't see it that way at all. They don't need Tom Brady, they need an average QB that can perform like Flacco did.

To make the playoffs? Maybe, but if the goal is to win a Super Bowl they need more than a Flacco. They also need someone affordable for at least the next few years with all the money tied up in Watson. It isn't like the rest of the offense is winning matchups to make up for an average QB anymore.

so you're saying you can't be our LT any more?

If they are married to Watson, and looking at the cap hit they are, the Clowns are in a rebuild whether they want to acknowledge it or not.

Granted - I DO agree they need to fire the front office before they do it, but unfortunately, TEMU Jerrah Jones still owns the fuckin team, so it won't matter either way.

A few years back I tore my quad tendon demonstrating to my son's padded flag team how to get in a stance and fire off the ball. Needless to say, I'm too fat, too out of shape, and too old to even properly demonstrate how to do it anymore. I traumatized a bunch of 8 and 9-year-olds when they heard the snap of my tendon. It gave me a new respect for how guys like Anthony Walker and Jack Conklin ever come back from injuries like this. It's been 3 years and I still live in fear of stepping too hard and reinjuring myself. IIRC Conklin tore his patellar tendon pretty much the same way and I can't imagine playing again after having something like that happen in a non-contact injury.

Honestly, and I hate to wade too deeply into these things, but, the Browns cap situation isn't all that bad. If he's out next year for the year and I would make sure that he is... doesn't really matter I guess, and then they release him post June 1 in 2026, they mostly are paying him on time. Which is, on one hand bad because he makes 46 million, but they have that in rollover this year... at any rate if they can get a guy on a transitional contract and/or draft someone... they're going to go ahead and try to compete with that I think. I don't see any scenario where they burn it to the ground while they're trying to get the stadium situation squared away.
