Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

:slappy: I mean I get it, I’m no Baker lover, but 20/30 for 342 and a TD against what was supposedly a good defense is not a bad performance at least (like he was against the Titans and Rams)

Hey, I’m not putting any negativity on Baker here. What I am doing is suggesting that if he gets his shit together for more than a 1 TD/1 (or more) INT game, this team could be “dangerous.” As for yesterday, he was just fine and his lack of TDs came at the expense of Chubb running them in, which is just fine by me. They put up 40+ on the shitbirds so it’s a celebration that all are invited to.

Fine with me. When we get to December, that will be a good way to go about it. Look, Mayfield is gonna throw some picks. I would have liked to have had a TD on the first FG drive from him, but all in all he did fine. Left a few plays out there, sure. But much less forcing to OBJ, much more creativity in some of the play calling (and some very nice, fuck you toss sweep calls) and I liked him under center more and much less shotgun empty backfield.

Pretty nice work by the Defense on the road, too. Wilks blitzes more than I was led to believe he would, and really they have played solid other than the end of the first game and most of that is on Mayfield. And they've done it quite shorthanded.

Once again the key was always to survive the first half of the season, if they can't win in San Francisco, the Seahawks game becomes pretty big, but Im not sure we know how good either of those teams are... They have a lot of Bengals and Steelers wins between them.

Maybe it's just because we are only 4 games into the season, but nobody on the Browns schedule has a good win yet. The Pats are the scariest matchup, but they've only played the Steelers, Dolphins, Jets, and Bills. I'd argue the Pats only play a handful of teams that could test them all year with the Browns being the first of the season. Many times you'll see a team squeak out a hard win then lay an egg in the next game (i.e. the Rams this week) so the Ravens might have a shot against the Pats if the Browns give them a game. I don't want to say too many nice things about the Browns, but nobody really scares me on the back half of the schedule so even if they are 2-5 in 4 weeks they still have a shot.

The NFL needs to act on Humphrey strangling OBJ. Strangulation can kill someone, even if you don't expect it to. You can tear an artery in the neck and a victim could die hours after the incident, or there could be brain damage. Strangulation is something that isn't taken as seriously by a lot of people as it ought to be.

The Browns need to find someone to act as a fullback. I think that might help them when they get into the red zone. I cannot say for sure but I think Landry might have lined up in the FB position on the Browns last rushing TD. That guy is willing to do almost anything for the good of the team. He agreed to accept the role as punt returner also. They should take one of the OG's that they never use and line him up in the FB position. Take Kush and put him back there because he sure as hell is not doing very well on the offensive line. They really need to find a replacement for him. Also, #10 should not return kickoffs. I do not know how many times he got stopped around the 15 yard line yesterday trying to return kickoffs. #Nitpicker

Official game stats for Garrett... 1 tackle and rest of stats are all zeros... that's pretty invisible

@ 0:15 seconds.

@ 1:41 Myles stays home to force a pretty tough pass by Lamar

@ 1:53 Myles crossing the face of the RG and RT combined with the stunt frees up Randall for the sack

@ 2:21 Forces a pressure

@ 5:15 yet another double team as the Ravens go max pro. That's called a numbers advantage for a defense if you're keeping track at home.

@ 5:20 outside zone fake on a bootleg, Myles getting double teamed and a friendly shoulder check from the released RB .... again, numbers.

@ 5:39 draws yet another double team and as the line is slide protecting (his way) allows the delayed 5th to pressure Lamar who needs fancy footwork to walk into a sack.

@ 6:30 in a nutshell is how concerned teams are about the Myles and Sheldon combo. That's 3 men shading their way in order to block 2.

@6:36 Myles shoots up field to get ahead of the possible kick out block and B-lines straight for Lamar (his man as he is being read) interior just doesn't hold up. Chargers played the Ravens like this in the playoffs.

@6:50 double team

@6:57 - kick out upfield and QB/edge contain from before

@9:15 Bull rush - quick pass. Drawing a double... you're picking up on the theme by now, I trust?

@9:50 bends around the corner and almost has the sack - bit of pressure applied there and Lamar chucks it up for a pick.

When you're playing the Ravens with Lamar, your first priority are your run fits. And that was clearly Wilks message to our defensive front. Contain their running game as best as possible and force Jackson into 3rd and 5+ in passing situations. A winning recipe per the Chargers and Chiefs. Honestly, it's about the only way to beat the Ravens. If you can't limit them in the redzone or force non-gains/negative plays, they'll just stay ahead of the chains and grind you all game.

Point being, YOU believe Myles was invisible because you fail to look beyond simple stat columns. However the Ravens coaching staff, and no other professional coaching staff for that matter, seem to share your assessment. The guy can't have 3 sacks a game. And last I checked, he was leading the NFL in that category. So at ease for one week.

I watched the game.. I focused on 95 a number of times... I was highly unimpressed with his effort... seemed to take the day off
Double teams are not uncommon.. when you're the #1 pick you should expect that...
And any idea you might have that I don't understand the game falls on deaf ears...
and looking at the time stamps you listed... I stand by my statement even moreso now

PS I'm a Garrett fan fellas .. he was invisible... took the day off

Then you've contradicted yourself. That is all.
