Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

I don't believe this front office puts much value on LB or IDL barring transcendent looking players.

Money is on DB or WR if it isn't some type of trade down (or up a few spots perhaps, player dependent)
While I almost agree with you:wink: almost, I hope the front office puts more value on IDL before WR. We could always move one of the IDL guys out to DE. I would load up on DBs and a flyer on a rush DE before I would go WR. I know we need speed out there but as long as OBJ is here there is too much money tied up in that position.

All depends on BPA in this case. I struggle from here to see a consistent Day 1 difference maker for IDL at 26. At least, someone I could justify taking at that spot vs someone I could get 90% of the production from day 2 and beyond.

As for moving my interior to the edge.... why? I can think of few examples where that worked recently other than Suh playing 4-5 tech in the Superbowl with the Rams. But the Rams defensive structure is ideally setup for their 3-3 base and that's exactly what you can do when your best pass rusher is Aaron Donald.

Kicking out Sheldon or Elliot takes away from what they do best and you're sure as shit not about to move a 330lb Billings to shade or heads up on a tackle. So....? Not really understanding your strategy here.

By some miracle if Micah Parsons falls though? (Again a huge miracle) then I can see LB being the pick. But trusting ODB to come back 100% while Baker is still learning to throw to covered receivers is a matter of certain faith. Truth is this offense lacks a speed threat on the perimeter or in the east-west ball action game that we see teams like KC deploying a couple of. The playbook will never really be as expansive as it possibly could become without having one pass catcher with serious wheels.

I did not mean to indicate that I would take a IDL with the 26th pick in the draft. No way in hell that I would do that. When it comes to the third round probably.

I could see them moving Malik Jackson to the outside to give Garrett a blow periodically. I was not referring to moving Billings or Richardson outside.
My favorite pick at 26 would be Collins unless they move up and take Horn. Shoot them might have to move up to get Collins but those are my two favorites.

Well its going to be Gustin as Myles' relief now.

Re: Sheldon. Pretty confident he'll restructure but there are names in the draft middle to late that could help ease the loss.

Looks like Richardson might have to go and I would hate that because we need DTs. Hopefully they can restructure his contract.

Operative word is "may" - Richardson is always the candidate because of the lack of dead money if they cut him... I mean, maybe they ask him to restructure and add a year, but this should take the Browns from 13.x mill in cap room to 3.x to 5.x in cap room....plus 850K (because he will knock someone out of the top 51) so that gives you 4-6 million in space to sign draftees... which is actually awfully close to enough... the cap hit for the 26 is probably 3 million per year (minus 850K) so really that's 2.2ish and once you get into 3rd rounders they only hit you about 250K or so with 1 million dollar (per year with prorated bonuses) deals (and maybe even less depending if they beat out someone that makes more than the minimum)

This has to make the Browns a legitimate contender for winning it all...
Def backfield should be remarkably better
Offensive line should be heathy
Would hope for some upgrade in the LBs
but, on paper, this is the best Browns team in decades

I got a Browns ticket to win the 2022 Super Bowl. Tampa is the team to beat, but reigning champs usually don't have everything fall into place two straight years.
