I understand where you're coming from regarding trading OBJ to free up the money but if we trade him they are going to have to find a WR who can take the top off of defenses. Landry and Higgins do not have that type of speed. Maybe they could try and restructure OBJ and Landry contracts but not sure if they would buy that.I like the odds of the Browns trading OBJ as soon as they start coming into salary cap problems. They will have to extend Baker and Ward, whose rookie deals can run two more years, and that is going to cost them all the space they had left around that time.

Thank goodness the Browns did not spend all that money on him. I am sure they can find someone who can play the rush end for a lot less.
I read in an article that to get him in Cleveland would have cost something closer to 40 mil over 2 years.
Good thing he's a "soldja" because he'll need to be in the slammer. Dude's got issues.

So it sounds like the NFL is going to see a bunch of 1 year wait out the low cap deals this offseason. I wouldn't recommend it, but the Browns could really go all in on the Super Bowl this year if they wanted to outbid everyone on a handful of the one year deals. If they are cutting a backup DE to save 3M I don't think that is the direction they are going to be moving in. Might get lucky and find a couple players willing to take multi-year deals based on 2021 cap numbers just to make sure they are covered down the road. The Browns should have the best mix of cap space and ability to win now to be a destination for some prime defensive players this year.
