Correct. He was brought in for the 2019 season. The attempt was move the offense to a more vertical based passing game, driving the ball downfield early & often. Similar to how Seattle (at the time) Tampa with Brady, KC with Mahomes had become.

Baker showed up to camp overweight & out of shape. He struggled to consistently push the ball downfield without throwing picks and he bailed from clean pockets at the highest rate in the NFL.

Brownies offense went back under center and limited certain route types. F Delta was the biggest - of course, where Odell shined. But that is where Baker & ODB couldn't get onto the same page post snap because Baker struggled (still does) to consistently diagnose safety leverage.

Kitchens was fired as a result, Monken went out the door with him.

Nathan Scheelhasse? Wasn’t this dude a mediocre Illini QB just a couple of years ago? If they are going to go a different direction from Generic Retread 11b (Schwartz), this is the kind of guy they’re gonna have to take a hack at; somebody nobody else is really interested in as a HC, limited resume, and just young/dumb enough to think he’s good enough to turn around the fortunes off a dead franchise.

Browns are giving their coaching candidates homework and having them write essays according to Pelissero. Nice. We definitely need to be ruling out as many good coaching candidates as possible so we are left with guys desperate enough to write a fucking essay to the Browns begging for a chance. Fuck are we doing. Stefanski had his issues, but the team will have a worse coach next year. Maybe the coach will grow into a guy who can win COTY 2x. Nah they'll can him after two years and hire some other dipshit who wants to ruin his career.
