That run from 2012-15 is truly remarkable in its futility.

  • Richardson- so-so rookie year, then (amazingly) traded for a 1st round pick that turned into...JOHNNY MANZIEL!!! (fart noise).
  • Weeden- A total pile of crap, spent about 1.5 years as the starter before being dumped for nothing.
  • Mingo- Did nothing of note in three years before being dealt for a 5th round pick.
  • Gilbert- An absolute disaster. Was REALLY bad at football. Aside from a fluke pick-six as a rookie, was best known for being a terrible corner back. Dealt for a 6th round pick after 2 years.
  • Manziel- Drunk. Drugs. Domestic abuse. Sucked as a QB. Canned after two years.
  • Shelton- Still time, but has done little to indicate he was worthy of being selected #12 overall. Currently injured.
  • Erving- Spent two years as a human turnstile before being dealt for a 5th rounder.

It's this kind of run that makes people like me think, you know what, I could do a far better job simply because I watch college football

I think you could literally pick draft eligible names out of a hat and do better than that

Mike Brown would be envious of that many consecutive high draft picks that he didn't have to give a second contract
