Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

Should that happen and we also draft Goff or Wentz high - you absolutely have to sit them for the year. There's no way you can put a rookie out there with a young and shaky Oline, combined with a dearth of offensive weapons.

I think that's one reason to not draft one of those QBs at #2. The Browns have been spending first rounders on QBs for years and the rest of the team has suffered for it. They need to build up the supporting cast by trading down for more picks, and go with Griffin/McCown at QB. I'm not sold on Goff and Wentz as the first two picks in the draft, either, so that's probably part of my thinking.

Well, Goff and Wentz are going #1 and #2, so it's probably just your Browns fan shell shock showing through.

Paxton Lynch at #8? Or wait until next year (again) for the franchise quarterback.

I know you gotta be pissed about this but honestly I believe this is the better move this year to trade back and hope to get lucky either at the top of the 2nd with Lynch or wait until next year...

I am okay with this also as long as they do not take Lynch with that eighth pick.. He is too much of a project for my liking.
I wonder if the Browns will go down even further if the Titans want to move back into the top 10. Currently, the Browns have 2 third-round selections, 3 fourth-round selection and 3 fifth-round selections. With that type of ammunition, they should be able to do so moving in the second round or possibly go back into the first again.

Looks like a great trade for the Browns. They weren't going 12-4 this year no matter what they did, so if Jackson can't fix RG3 they've got two first rounders next year to do something about it. Meanwhile, they can still get an impact player this year and have more chances to fill spots with the extra picks.
