Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

How cool would it be if the NFL would grant an exception..
and let the Browns have everyone associated with OSU in lieu of their normal draft selections

I wouldn't mind letting McCown take responsibility for getting Cardale ready

Cleveland Browns were “unprepared” for Day 1 of free agency (Video)
No surprises here... its that trainwreck you can't look away from.
I fucking love this franchise. :slappy:
:slappy:
if they trade a 2nd rounder (basically a 1st) for Kapernickehsuiogblabgliasubglasdfjkg

Kaepernick in Denver: Might work, they have a decent OL, a strong defense, and stud receivers.
Kapernick in Cleveland: :slappy: OL=J. Thomas and...well...uh...not good. Receivers? *crickets*

What sort of slogan can we start for Deshaun Watson?
"Take it in the Caan for Deshaun".

I'd prefer they pass on the QB this year, select a sure fire 10 year starter with the #2 pick, go with McKown another year. Not fired up by the D111 QB or the string bean from Cal.

It doesn't look like that's happening though. I fully expect them to draft a 2nd round QB with the #2 pick because Media Hype.
I'm interested to see how this plays out though... it's a very early look to judge how capable analytics will be. If in 3 years a QB taken #2 overall is out... that's pretty damning for these guys. Wentz was a 2 year starter and Goff a 3 year starter... plenty of data to analyze out there, and no better position to do that with than QB.

OK, typical dumpster fire but then it ends with a great line:

"Save for extending Dwayne Bowe, Day 1 of free agency could not have gone any worse for the new front office of the Cleveland Browns."

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

At least they got their priorities right. Don't want to pay $6mil to Benjamin, but they'll pay that to Bowe. Epic.

There's a reason Farmer got fired. Just because Farmer paid Bowe last year doesn't mean it's smart to overpay Benjamin this year. now if you could go back in time not sign Bowe and add some of that money into an extension for Benjamin you're cooking with gas. There isn't enough paper to make a list of other things you could do with the Bowe money.

I'm fine letting Benjamin go... but why extend Bowe for the same amount on the same day?
That's just bad business. If you were gonna overpay a WR $6mil this year... who would you pick? Benjamin or Bowe? It's not even close.
