Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Browns released Little.

With Gordon out I was actually curious if that would motivate him enough to be the WR he's physically capable of becoming. I guess we won't find out.

2 to 1 he gets on another roster and turns into the next Boldin.
Hmmm I would take that bet.. cuz he just might get onto someones roster... but you must mean the next Michael Boldin cuz you sure as hell don't mean the next Anquan Boldin

Boldin can actually catch. WRs that cannot catch don't magically improve with a change in scenery...look at Braylon Edwards.

It's pretty clear that Little was just never meant to be a WR. He played RB up until his SO year in college, I believe. His body just outgrew the position.
Speaking of which, give the scatback a try a WR (Lewis?)

I mentioned this shortly after the draft. With Tate, the guy they drafted, and the UFA they signed they don't really need Lewis as much at RB. Find ways to get him the ball in space rather than pumping him up the middle like they did before he got hurt last year.

I'm surprised they cut Little. I figured he would get one more shot this year. Huge if, but if he could get his head on straight he could be a pretty good #2 WR in the NFL. I think 90% of his problems were mental and 10% stone hands.

Agree. I thought the Browns would keep him around a little while to evaluate him during training camp but maybe NFBuck is right regarding the fact that he has only been a WR for a few years and he just never caught on to playing the WR position. Hopefully, there will be some decent WRs cut when the training camps begin. We do not need to find a Josh Gordon but we are pretty slim at the WR position and need to find a couple more quality guys. Hopefully, Austin can remain healthy. That would be very nice.

Looks like they are willing to have a patchwork WR corp to fill the slot until Gordon comes back
and for folks who want to show Gordon the door.. the kid is 22... what were you doing when you were 22
you probably weren't leading the NFL in receiving... but you were doing the same extra-curricular stuff

I don't think I have to go all the way back to 22... wait, what?

At 22 I had a full time job and part time classes. I had bills, a little bit of student debt from my time on campus and sadly not genetically blessed enough to play football at the professional level making millions.

I don't want to show him the door by any means. Let's not presume that all 22 year olds are smoking spinach and catching passes for a living.

Youngest son happens to be 22 and pretty sure only reason him and a few of his friends aren't doing drugs is because
his school specialty does random drug testing... and they get tossed if they come up dirty

And, to add to the point, if a 22 yr old can catch passes and makes millions.. he might be even more inclined to find good spinach
and, you're right, I presume all 22 yr olds are doing spinach and am surprised to find the rare ones that don't..
but ya know... it doesn't bother me one bit either way...

and ta-da.. at 22 I had a full time job, working on 2nd degree, bought a house and a Trans Am... with a significant school debt

I would give you more credit if you had a banner

I also didn't have a lucrative, multi-million dollar career hinging on me not doing drugs. The kid is either wolverine-dumb, or has a serious problem.

You may be right... but

I live by the motto...
Never say what I would or would not do to theoretical questions... cuz you don't know until you are in that exact position
At 22, leading the NFL.. I might think I was bullet proof too

I never lose sight of the fact, all my records are pristine.. cuz I was LUCKY..

Dudes knock out their significant others or beat the crap out of their spouses... don't pay child support for the 6 kids they have with 5 different women... shoot people... barely get a slap on the wrist... and Gordon could lose 8-16 games for a joint? WTF

Has there ever been anyone from the NFL banned for a game due to amphetamines? Do we really think half or all of the league aren't bordering death levels of uppers on game days? Is there anyone playing baseball that isn't living on uppers? Aren't those a lot more dangerous than Gordons spinach?

BTW (in case you were wondering), you can test my urine, blood, hair... I'm so squeaky.. I'm boring

ive read alot of stuff before the draft about charles johnson on rotoworld and now he will probably be our #1 receiver, IF HEALTHY, when it is all said and done...the hype train is on full blast for me and why not...im a browns fan

Second-year WR Charles Johnson (ACL surgery) is working on the side with trainers at Browns pre-draft minicamp.
We're keeping tabs on Johnson because he's a physical freak with 4.39 wheels and an insane 11-foot-1 broad jump. The Browns also have an opening at No. 2 wideout, although they may address it early in May's draft. Johnson tore his ACL sometime between June and October of last year. He's 6'2/215.
