Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

How about the rumor that the CEO post is being kept open for Peytong Manning?

If were him and that's what awaited me in retirement I might just keep playing and taking ruthless beatings as a QB for the rest of my life instead.

Its all about just the right amount of brain trauma... its a small needle to thread, but, if he can get to the part where he doesn't know where he is, but, can show up to "work," I think we've got something.

Wow, rumors flying on the radio this morning. Apparently a certain senior assistant coach with tons of experience (likely Turner) wrote a letter to Haslem when he left saying he had never worked for 2 bigger scumbags (his word) than The Scowl and the Fat Man. The Weeden trade thing was also covered...and hilarity ensued

the peter king article today with ken whisenhunt's quotes regarding his interview was about as solid an indicator as there could be to reaffirm the likely Norv Turner letter.

the minute that the NFL paired Gollum with hillbilly jim, it was over. Banner just couldn't help but meddle in the football side of things.

If I were the Browns I'd buy him a plane ticket to wherever he wants to go.....

I'd rather have any of the Ginger Weasleys quarterback my team. Except Percy, he's a sniveling bitch.

Interesting read. I think after this Past years coaching search Haslam came to the realization about how toxic Banner and Lombardi really were. The one thing that I will disagree with regarding that article is that I think quite a few Browns fans knew the name Ray Farmer before the PC yesterday. It will also help him greatly that he brought in Kuharich to assist him with player evaluation.

I can only think of one team that's more of a joke than the Browns in the four major sports. The Edmonton Oilers. But it's very close.. The Browns are doing their best to take the spot.

Two posts in a row mentioning the Oilers, oddly enough.

SI offseason outlook for all 32 teams...not surprisingly, they laugh in the clowns general direction despite all the draft picks and cap space. That organization is now the official mascot for pro sports dysfunction.

32. Cleveland Browns
Breakdown: FAs: 2 | Cap: 4 | Draft: 4 | GM: -5 | TOTAL: 5
The Browns have $45.5 million in cap to spend in the new league year, and two first-round picks after fleecing the Colts in the Trent Richardson trade. There’s a lot of talent on defense, and a few real playmakers on the offensive side of things. In other words, everything needed to build a real NFL powerhouse. Unfortunately, a front office that deserves a far lower rating than the one we were able to give it (heck with it; we’re throwing the lowest grade possible at this mess) will almost unquestionably squander these great gifts. Because when your team owner is under federal investigation, and your organization has changed team presidents, general managers and head coaches at a dizzying rate, it’s hard to take anything you do seriously.

MH was over rated. He rode the jock strap of Brett Farve and the successes they had in Green Bay. He didn't do squat in Seattle and sure as hell didn't do squat in Cleveland. Glad the SOB is gone!

Seattle had some pretty good teams while he was there. Should have another trophy in the case but the refs made sure the Lomardi went to Pittspuke.

Stand corrected. 5 NFC West titles and a trip to the SB in 10 seasons. Not bad but still paled to what was accomplished in GB. I guess his successes (in Seattle) did not leave much of an impression in my memory especially after what had happened in Cleveland.
