Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Mack's injury is not clear... because the fibula is non-weight bearing... most likely will need screws and maybe a plate.. still takes the traditional 6 wks for a bone to heal... but this usually is associated with tendon/ligament damage... an immense strain/twist on the ankle joint ligaments/tendons is what snaps the fibula

They'll feel Mack's absence more in the passing game than the running game. The other 4 starters have to stay healthy or else performance will suffer. Mack going down is going to effect Schwartz the most since he's losing Greco and getting McQuistan next to him. I think Greco will do fine at center.

I just hope Mack is able to get back to 100% for next year. Often times broken legs end up being career altering injuries.
Greco will probably only play center for one more week because they really like a guy named McDonald who suffered a broken wrist during preseason or earlier and he will probably take over the center position after this week. They brought in McQuistan to really play one of the tackle positions but he is better at guard. If one of their tackles would get hurt then you could call me concerned but the OL played pretty well this past Sunday even after Mack was injured.

I agree losing a tackle would hurt the most just because we don't have quality depth behind them. I would even put Bitonio third on the list ahead of Mack since he seems to have brought a toughness to the OL they they were lacking in past years. Bitonio might actually be the best choice for backup tackle if the shit hit the fan.

#browns Pettine said A.Mack had something more than just fibula, which caused him to be lost for whole season. (Possible ligament damage).

Regretably, I'm a guru in this arena... been there.. but I'm sure Mack's doc was a ton better than mine
