They're still shitty.Yeah, I don't really know how to feel about this "good browns" thing. I have relied on them to provide my Sunday comedy fix for so long, I kind of miss that.
At 31-3 I went to the gas station to make sure I had 3 days fuel for my generator.Went to a Browns/Steelers party. Have to say, Browns fans don't know how to win. They sat in silence taking personal inventories of their lives. No [Mark May] talking. No bragging. WTF? They all had a look in their eye like "do I have enough food in the bunker?"
Come on.
I'm starting to come around some, but then I remember Derek Anderson looked pretty damn good for a couple of months in 2007 against a similar run of tomato can defenses. One thing is for certain, the OL and running game is possibly in the best shape it's been in since the rebirth, and that bodes well for this team's chances to actually sniff the postseason. If Crowell can just hang on to the damn ball, they go legitimately three deep at RB.I think this has to be my favorite post from this thread.

One big difference working in their favor for long-term success, Re: Hoyer/Anderson, is that Hoyer is being counted on to mainly be a game manager, whereas Anderson and the passing game was what made that team go, and ultimately fail, in 2007. This team has a terrific stable of young backs. What remains to be seen is how much the Mack injury will affect them. And I don't think we'll know that until we play the Bungles in 4 weeks, because there's a few tomato cans in front of them now.As for the comparisons to DA. I hear ya. I was thinking similar things the other day. I guess I can say the only differences are that Hoyer doesn't have the deep ball, but he does seem to make better decisions while having fewer tools to work with at WR.
edit: Big hypothetical. If Hoyer keeps up this kind of play, what are the chances he's a pro bowl alt?
