Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

:slappy:

Hoyer is a turd. Plain and simple. There's a reason he's on his 4th organization with less than a handful of starts. Naming him starter is just delaying the inevitable. Fans will be crying for Johnny Handcramp by week 3...and QB controversies are always great for a team trying to climb out of a smoldering dumpster fire.

So you would rather be a smoldering dumpster fire with Hoyer starting after a few games when Manziel is spending the rest of the season in the hospital? For all his limitations Hoyer has shown a better ability to see the field and get rid of the bad quickly. IMO Manziel needs more time before he is throw to the wolves.

I don't necessarily disagree. But, in my IMO, drafting Manziel gave Hoyer basically zero chance. As soon as he has a bad game, or even a decent game that they lose, the cries for Manziel will start. And they will be loud. Hell, if he (Hoyer) looks as bad as he has in the first two preseason games, they'll be ongoing before the first snap of the season. Bottom line, if Manziel is your guy, go with him. He's not going to miraculously become less vulnerable to injury by watching Hoyer stink it up for the first couple of games. It's setting itself up to be 2008 all over again, where within the first couple of weeks of the season, people were booing DA and calling for Quinn. Hoyer is not the answer. If they think Manziel is, go with him. One thing the kid has is confidence, so I don't think he's the type of kid that is going to be set back by having some bad games to start his career.

That 2 QB system will work wonders. One guy will start hitting a rhythm...just in time for the other to come in to run a completely different offense with a different cadence and different tendencies. Do we play the Raiders this year? That could be the "#1 pick bowl"

Two QB system is "on the table". Kill me.

I'd like to know what that means. Are they going to bring in Manziel to get murdered on a couple read option/wildcat plays every game or give him a couple series a game to run his offense? I don't mind option 1 although Manziel isn't really the kind of QB that I want to trot out there for a play that will be 100% run. Option 2 would suck for everyone involved especially the fans.

Agree with a lot of this.
I bet it doesn't even take that long. You said week 3 in another post, I bet it'll be week 3... of the preseason.
We could have Peyton Manning and the media wouldn't let him settle into the starting job.
I personally like Hoyer. I want to believe in Hoyer. But he's mediocre at best, and he already looks unnerved and unsettled. He's playing like a guy whose lost the job.
Manziel is still shit... but the media will never let it go until he falls flat on his face or proves to be Brett Favre. Even the locker room is split. I saw some article where Whitner was talking how all the vets wanted to see Manziel start... shameful.
So may as well throw him to the dogs and get it done with. The Front Office did this to themselves and the team... g.d. idiots.
I bet these fools believe in every "hooker with a heart of gold" story too.
