I think the difference is that Hoyer can see the field better at this point and make quicker decisions. I don't think the box will get loaded for him like it will for Manziel. If the offense completely sucks until the bye they can make a change, but starting Manziel could ruin him.

I gave up on the NFL years ago. Catching my first preseason action of the year tonight. From the looks of it so far, panties and tampons are more important than helmets and pads...

Honestly, if I'm Pettine - give Hoyer all the 1st team snaps after this in practice. Give the offense time to gel. Both QB look like shit but Hoyer looks less likely to throw pick sixes.

This defense is going to have to be legendary for 6 wins.
