at least he's not on the antonio cromartie plan.

plus, the fact he's got a wife and two kids is probably why he's trying to get strange on the down low instead of clubbing and such.

Maybe, but that doesn't seem to stop, oh, pretty much everyone in the NBA from doing it club-style. I dunno, something ain't right. His problem now though.

I sort of agree with the Kid. Not so much about taking Star at the #6 spot but getting rid of Rubin. As I posted before, you can always find a big fat ass to play the middle of a 3-4 and Rubin's contract is way too big for the position that he plays.

I am at the point now where I really do not care who they draft because no one knows how a college player is going to perform in the NFL. Just do not take a QB with that #6 pick or I will ask Haslam for a rebate.

You can't just plug anyone in a 3-4, ex. Kenyon Coleman and Ted Washington who sucked.

I think its 7.5 mil this year, which is also a contract year...Shaun Rogers was good, Ted Washington was horrible...absolutely horrible...

Well here's the rub... if Rubin is playing NT... then his argument about drafting Lotulelei is sorta pointless.

That means your current depth chart would be (not saying it is, but would be)

Bryant - Rubin - Taylor
Hughes - Kitchen - Winn (something like that in the second string, whatever... maybe Hughes in the NT, I dunno)

Can you move pieces around, obviously, but, either you think Taylor is a 5 Tech or you don't.

Finally, Rubins contract as it relates to this year isn't all that important and it limits the value you get in return anyway...

Having said that Star may not even get past Philly at 4.

I do not disagree with anything that you have said. Supposedly from what I have read, Taylor and Rubin positions are supposed to be determined in training camp so I am not sure if Taylor is going to play NT or not. My concern is with Sheard playing ROLB.

It would be nice to get a second round draft choice for either Rubin or even Sheard and either get a decent OLB, CB, or a DT if you think that having one of those guys traded weakens our DL. We probably could get a decent DL in the third or fourth round or maybe not.

I guess it is all a crapshoot anyhow and maybe that is why some GM's are better than others:wink:

Suitability or not, I think Rubin is a good football player, so given a lack of cap problems at the moment, I'd prefer not to divest myself of good football players for draft picks. Especially given the fact that getting younger isn't a priority for this team over all.

They may like sheard out there on the right anyway, who knows, he might do fine... and short term competent depth may become available after the draft, we shall see.
