Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

Interesting development with Schefter, Mortensen and Mayock all expecting Joeckel and Fisher to go 1-2. That would put Floyd at 3, likely Jordan at 4, and Johnson or Ansah at 5. That would be great for the Browns because they could trade down to a team desperate to get ahead of Arizona for Johnson or could draft Star Lotulelei and then trade Rubin for a second or third rounder. All in all, I think the Browns are in a good spot.

Great idea. Let's trade a proven player away at a position of strength & depth. Then use that top pick to draft someone else on the Dline.

Brilliant.

In my opinion, Lotulelei is better suited as a 34 defensive end than Rubin and if it wasn't for the initial reports of his heart condition, I think he'd be talked about right now as a no-brainer to go top 3. Also, if you look at the draft history of Lombardi, he's big on drafting front seven guys and that's the strength of this draft, especially at the top.

The Browns need to find a way to get into the second round or get a third round pick due to the great depth and if that means trading Rubin, so be it. A second or extra third would allow them address the secondary positions and tight end.

I know you're on the Milliner or bust bandwagon but, quite frankly, it seems less and less likely that the Browns go that route. In fact, I'd be surprised if that were the pick on Thursday.

guys - why are you even talking about it? It's LOLbardi's decision and you know he's going to be pick Geno Smith. it's signed and sealed practically.

See, this is why I question how much of a clowns "fan" I am any more. Part of me hates what an epic disaster it would be, but another part think it'd totally be worth it for the lulz. I look at this franchise as more of a source of comedic relief than anything else at this point. I started to feel somewhat optimistic about the future last fall, then they hired Lombardi. I'm now 100% convinced this scat film will continue endlessly.

Whispers of multiple teams to trade down with including San Diego (A whales vagina) and Miami. Apparently they're hard on for an OT. Fine by me, hopefully that creates something of a bidding war.

If we do in fact trade down, or HAVE to trade down - give me Vacarro. Hopefully said trade down nets us a 2nd rounder, take that Hayden kid from Houston with the 2nd rounder.

edit: Just so we are clear, I will not be fully satisfied by this draft unless we pick either Stoney or Boren. Preferably both.

jacksonville is the key to the whole thing. if they take Fisher #2, then the browns won't be trading down. if they take jordan or floyd, then it becomes possible.

but really, outside of one or two guys, the difference between who is available at #6 vs. #11 or #12 isn't any different.

Thing is, that those one or two guys are a big deal, and of course all we need are a couple Lombardi-esque moves and the 11 or 12 becomes 14 or 15, but yeah, as you point out with Fisher, etc, not only are those one or two guys between 6 and 12 a big deal, its an even bigger deal if you're at the theoretical #13.

(ie Miami who HAS to upgrade their O-Line.)

Well this is Lombardi we're talking about...so expect him to stay put at #6 and take Smith, then trade next year's first rounder and a conditional pick to move back into the first round and take Nassib
