Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

The Bleacher Report strikes again:

No one is talking about the Browns making a head-coaching change, but if they do it won't surprise some people around the league. The reason is not that Rob Chudzinski has done a poor job, though. It's that the Browns didn't get who they wanted a year ago. The new Browns management team went after Chip Kelly, Jon Gruden and Nick Saban last offseason and might be inclined to make another pitch for a big name. The management team thought the Browns could be a .500 team this season after going 5-11 in 2012. If the Browns lose in Pittsburgh Sunday, they'll finish 4-12. Another interesting point: Money is not an issue to team owner Jimmy Haslam, so having to pay off the last three years of Chudzinski's contract probably would not deter him from making a move.

No more about the Browns so you really do not need to go unless you want more funny stuff.

That's freaking hilarious. Chud is paying the price for Holmgren completely botching the front part of the 2012 draft and that's why the Browns are 4-11. Hopefully they get the tank right for once and lose on Sunday to lock up a higher pick.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what the team looks like next year once they have a second off season and draft to fill in the remaining holes. Richardson and Weeden set the Browns back 2 years in the building process.

I've seen Blake Bortles for the Browns first pick in a couple mocks so far. Any chance I can get him with the Colt's pick instead? Best bet Clowney is still on the board when the Browns pick and someone goes Dan Snyder to move up and get him.

Dear god, let this be true. We could fleece a team to take our spot for Clowney - Bortles, depending on the next few months, could end up being a top 15 pick. Of course, if Clowney is available, its always damn tempting to take that kind of talent.

4 pro bowlers, 1 all pro, and one player that barely missed the cut (Ward).

Just a few years ago we never would haved imagined a roster having anything close to that potential. There is some talent. We just need to not fuck this up.

Very similar to the Chiefs last year. Miserable season as a team highlighted by several strong individual performances. It says that there is talent on this team, but the holes are BIG ones. I have a hard time seeing a similar leap to KC as I don't think the clowns will go out and get a QB like Alex Smith, and the running game is a disaster right now. Unless Hoyer is the real deal, and I have serious doubts about that, they still need a major upgrade at QB, and HAVE to address the RB position.

We also don't have Hali or Houston. Obviously, in a division as weak as the AFC North (at the moment) we don't need that type of defensive firepower. Hoyer doesn't even have to be the real deal, he just needs to be a heady player that doesn't turn the damn ball over. Running game will be the determining factor in this teams success moving forward. Sure, its a 'passing' league, but when the elements play against you late in the season and you need to take some heat off of the QB, a trust worthy and effective ground game is still the best medicine. I hope to God we draft Hyde and a damn fullback. With him that also leaves Obby and Lewis to help spell him - that's a great way to ice games.

Jackson is do some major dollars next season so the Browns might be looking to find another ILB and Jackson is starting to get a little long in the tooth. I know that he is one of the team leaders and he has played almost every down this season but he is poor in coverage and really does not make the big-play. I agree that the running back position needs to be upgraded or at least get a power back but that might be able to be addressed in free agency or later in the draft. I am not sure about Hoyer either but I guess as long as he manages the game that would be sufficient. We need another big WR to complement Gordon and we need some help on the OL but that can be addressed in the 3rd and 4th round or through free agency. Rubin might be history also because he has a big cap hit coming but we have enough DLs. This team can be competitive next season if the boys are willing to spend some money iin free agency and hopefully draft was some brains but that might be a problem.

I agree, for the most part, but it would be a shame to waste weapons like Gordon and Cameron on shoddy QB play. They just need to get a decent QB that can get them the ball consistently without setting them back in other situations. Maybe Hoyer can be that guy. Who knows. I do know that they NEED a runningback. My God, do they need a RB.

Weedmaster and Campbell were able to get Gordon the ball. Getting JG the ball isn't an issue - force feeding him the ball is. What Norv needs to do is get a bit more creative getting Cameron the ball. A few return routes letting him use his wing span, or maybe what the Saints do with Graham - Run that bunch formation, isolate Jimmy out wide and give him the option of slant to use his body to shield the ball, or a fade and let him go up and get it. I've been a bit dissapointed with our use of him through mid season. Of course, losing Hoyer didn't help.

In short, the Browns were partnered with the Clinic, and now it appears they are rescinding that and partnering with UH instead. Not sure what led to that, I haven't been in for a few days, but I guess they may have gotten a better deal there (hospital privileges, rehab, etc.)

Get to Sportsbook before it is too late. Taylor and Hughes also in active
Rookie Leon McFadden will start in Haden's place, and try to guard Pro Bowl receiver Antonio Brown, who's third in the NFL in both receiving yards (1,412) and receptions (101). Brown also has eight TD catches, including a 41-yarder over Haden in the first meeting.

Also inactive are guards Jason Pinkston (concussion) and Shawn Lauvao (thigh). Rookie Garrett Gilkey will start at left guard and John Greco will start at right guard. Greco missed the past two games with a knee injury.

4-12 looks likely.

That's six straight seasons with at least 11 losses. In the now 15 seasons since this horse abortion was brought to life, the loss breakdown is as follows:

14: 1
13: 1
12: 5 (I'm including this year)
11: 4
10: 1
9: 1
7: 1
6: 1

15 Years: 1 Playoff berth, 13 losing seasons, 12 ten loss seasons, 11 with at least eleven losses. 6 Head Coaches, or an average of 2.5 years per coach.

You have to actively try to be that bad in most cases. Kudos to those of you that still give a shit about this franchise. I don't know how you do it.
