Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

Another scathing article in Indianapolis.. I think they hate us... They're really gonna hate us May 8th... when the draft occurs... I don't feel bad

Anyone heard from Mike Holmgren lately? Wonder if he still thinks Chud should have quit when they traded Richardson?

His shitty drafting last year set the Browns back a season in the rebuild. Can you imaging what this team would look like if we could go back and get a redo on those first round picks?

they're really going to hate it when they end up as the #4 seed and have to play Denver in the first round of the playoffs and get beat, thereby losing 5 draft spots, which will only further justify how absurdly stupid it was for them to make that trade.

also, i find the changing narrative on trent richardson funny. it went from having nowhere to run on a bad cleveland team, to not knowing the scheme in indy, to christ he sucks, all in a matter of about 4 weeks.

And if they didn't play in the worst division in organized football, they would likely not make the playoffs at all. They could easily finish 9-7 and provide us with a juicy midround pick.

I don't want to give anyone too much credit here, but, I remember thinking at the time, (with everyone with a mouth around me, not on this board, necessarily) that They're going through evaluating guys, and Norv Turner's been around a running back or two in his time, and I figured he said basically, "You know we can get a guy this good in the 3rd or 4th round without breaking too much of a sweat" so, I'm more curious if someone said, "Uh, yeah, this kid's really, really not good"

The quickness to blame the OL was the other thing that didnt jibe. I mean, they aren't run blocjng bulldozers and Cousins was a turnstyle early, but they weren't that bad last year...

Anyway, Grand Theft Draft Pick

(in my best imitation of that douche that always does the voicing on the negative campaign ads) "Trent Richardson. Wrong for Cleveland. Wrong for Indianapolis. Wrong for America(n football)."

All opinion shifts well justified too. The narrative is supposed to change after a player has demonstrated he was drafted well above his value.

i find it funny in that everyone had to blame the browns organization for trent richardson's failures. even after the trade, excuses were made for him until his performance was so bad that nobody could justify it any further. it had to be as obvious as getting kicked in the dick with a steel toed boot before people could finally say that maybe cleveland wasn't the problem, and maybe they made a smart move.

Looking back, I'm fine with that. His trade value came from people thinking that the player's ability wasn't the problem.
