this just appears to be the rehashing of the rumor from weeks ago, except the other team in the discussions has surfaced, and some potential proposals have been leaked.
My other suspicion.

so we drank our lunch today did we?My guess is that The 9ers called... I mean, hey... ... and lolbardi's like, "I dunno but I am, why don't you send my Nandy Ass-oh-mooga and a 2nd rounder while you're at it?"
Click.
So I hear the same people every morning on the way in and the way home, and I agree, the fact that Hoyer played two good games is being overinflated to the nth degree...but it's hard to look at Derek AnderWeedenson and see anything else than a tall, immobile goof with a big arm he can't use or control. I hope he does well for the team this year, but I'm not going to hold my breath on it...nor will I be surprised when he doesn't.My post was meant to be humorous, but it does sound exactly like every Browns fan who calls in to local sports talk shows. I actually heard one caller state that Hoyer was better at handing the ball off than Weeden.
The fans who are currently canonizing Hoyer are the same ones who claimed that the Browns were tanking the season by playing their third string quarterback, and were ripping on LOLbardi for falling in love with a quarterback who had been cut from four teams in the course of a year.
Hoyer and Weeden are both below average NFL quarterbacks. At least Weeden (unlike Hoyer) has the benefit of possessing physical skills that cannot be taught. Too bad Weeden is already thirty years old, and has little time to learn the mental aspects of the quarterback position.
A couple of things to consider, Hoyer is in his 5th year, Weeden is in his second. I'm guessing, the experience helps Hoyer reading defenses. The problem with that is, Weeden is not your typical 23 year old second year guy.Reading a defense can be taught. Processing the information quickly, manipulating the defense with your eyes then making your ABC decision is a combination of mental ability and experience.
A good QB has both. Weeden is slow on his reads and tentative on his throws. At least in the regular season has has been. Having Gordon back and an Oline that at least attempts to block might go a long way to helping him reach his pre-season showing. This team can win games so long as he doesn't turn the ball over.

Who? At the pace this team is on, and a win over Detroit looks possible - we'll miss out on Teddy & Tahj. I don't want McCarron, Murray or Manziel. I also think Hundley needs another year to develop.
I saw Logan Thomas make some really nice throws but I wouldn't go higher than a 2nd round pick for him

Thats the plan... win enough so they have to mortgage the future of the next two drafts to trade up to get Teddy or Tahj...
moreFARGO, N.D. -- Cleveland Browns executive Jon Sandusky, the son of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said Wednesday.
If they go 8-8... not saying they will, but, if the do, basically with no QB... the future is now. Having said that, its hard to tell who they like, and maybe they'll go full retard and take Manziel, but, Yeah, maybe they like Hoyer enough to take Mettenberger or Maybe Derek Carr and sit them behind Hoyer. Maybe they pull a Redskins and take Jeff Mathews from Cornell in the 6th too...
I mean, here's the thing, if the two 1st round picks are kind of mid round and you could get say Sammy Watkins or Marquise Lee and Ifo whatever Oregon kid's name is or Bradley Roby (not looking so good at the moment) but, point being there are a bunch of good players gonna be on the board there. I guess the Colts pick is looking like its gonna be later, but, lots of things to shake out between now and then. I don't really see how Bridgewater is gettable no matter the price (and if he is, the Jags deserve whatever they get) On the other hand I don't see them spending a whole heck of a lot to move up for Tajh. That's why Manziel is a real danger since he might fall to them... who knows, maybe twice... I can see lolbardi sticking to the plan once, but, how drunk is that guy gonna be (on booze or power) by the time the Colts pick comes up and the Money Badger is still on the board?
From what we can tell by this previous draft - I'd say the administration did a good coach putting a cork in LOLBardi's mouth. He's a decent evaluator of talent once its on roster. As a scout however, he offers zero help. I'm hoping we pick far enough down that Manziel won't be available or (god willing) the fucker realizes he isn't an NFL QB and stays his ass at A&M. I realize the latter is a total long shot given the kids mouth and pension for wanting the limelight.
The other thing that is nice; it appears Haslam & Banner are allowing the coaching staff to weigh in on picks. I'm sure Horton didn't think Sheard would end up
making as smooth a position transition as he has shown and clued the front office into an OLB.
The defense is already a strength, another key player and a little more depth and you're looking at the best unit in the league, right there with KC.
Roby at this point needs some soul searching. As a Buckeye I'd love to see him stay, however if the 1st round lock is there (no so sure at his point) then by all
means, get paid.
I'd like to see a CB, depth at ILB and maybe safety. Beyond that, if the front office wants to burn that 2nd pick on the best G or WR available while building depth at RB & TE... I"m all for it. Its almost hard to remember how promising our RB situation looked with Lewis in the backfield. Getting him healthy really adds another dimension to our passing game.

Of course with Weeden leading us... we could fall back to a 8-12 type pick.
