Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

I don't see how benching Weeden for Campbell does anything for the Browns now or in the future. I think it's a done deal that the Browns will be drafting a QB but if Weeden can improve a little they might be able to move him for a pick. Best case he turns into not garbage and keeps the offense moving.
You are exactly correct regarding Weeden and playing instead of Campbell.. Campbell looked terrible when they put him in I guess Baltimore. However, I do not see them moving Weeden until Hoyer is ready to play again unless they get very lucky in the draft with their QB selection.

It's hard for me to be a Browns fan because I can't stand other Browns fans. The Browns just scored 37 points, the most since November 22, 2009, and now are in first place in their division, and Browns fan is PISSED that Brandon Weeden led the team to victory. The Colt McHoyer fanboys really need to grow up and just enjoy a team that has built a championship-level defense, and has three big play threats in Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, and Travis Benjamin. The uarterback situation will be resolved next year, and odds are that the starter isn't on the current roster.

Can that miracle QB somehow be Tajh Boyd? Please?

While I agree with most of your post, I am not upset with the Browns so much as I am with the fact that Hoyer got injured during the game and now we are stuck with Weeden for the rest of the season and the offense did not put all of those 37 points on the board. I think that if Hoyer would have stayed healthy the Browns might have made the playoffs this season. I just do not see that happening with Weeden.

Bills are are looking to trade Byrd. Oh - and this team better draft Hyde. He showed last night has has Sunday abilities for a "bigger" RB.
I do not know about Byrd he could be a locker room problem and his contract is pretty big. I also think our safeties are pretty decent. Gipson has played fairly well and will only grow with experience. I do not think that we need much help on defense but offense is another story.

I have always been a big fan of Carlos and after last night and even a bigger fan. Good hands, good speed for a power back. I would love to see him on the Browns next year so that probably will not happen.

I do not know what they are waiting for but they better pick up a third string QB and quickly. The way Weeden stays in the pocket it is a disaster waiting for him to get hit and be injured again.

I forgot about the cost of absorbing his contract. I'd just like two competent safeties. Gipson has been a pleasant surprise.
Ward has been hesitant and lost at times. Maybe inexperience in the system? That said, looks like Megatron is inactive this week (knee issues).
If he's a no go next week (fingers crossed) this defense is going to have a field day with Stafford.

Sounds like he was limited in practice this week and a late scratch. Doesn't look like something that will make him miss 2 weeks, but we can hope. I'm hoping Suh did something stupid enough today to get suspended for a week. Browns better be breaking down the film right now looking for a punch, kick, spit, or whatever they can find to send to the league.

Richardson really coming around in Indy. 3.1 YPC today. Too bad Luck is awesome and the Colts keep winning. I'm all for drafting Hyde as long as it isn't in the first round, but I don't think he is the kind of back they are looking for.

Fyi, Trent today, 18 rushes 56 yards, longest of 16. 0 TDs

In fairness, it was against Seattle, arguably the best D in the league. But, yeah, 3 games in and Trent has done nothing to show that he's more than a mediocre/part time RB. They gave Donald Brown red zone/goal line carries today over him. He looks like another over-hyped bammer RB (Coffee, Ingram...).

Those goal line carries that Brown got - had Trent had them I'd sure he'd punch them in as well. Plenty of space to operate.
That said, his ypc isn't lighting it up.

I doubt Hyde will be taken in the first two rounds. If he's available in the 3rd-4th though, I'm all for it. He is the kind of back we should be looking
for. A late game finisher. Physical, between the tackles and has enough burst to bounce it outside if need be. Norv has made his bones off the inside
running game - we have no RB on roster with that capability right now. If Lewis ever gets healthy he'd be a great compliment to a power run game.

Probably, but it speaks to their opinion of his play that they gave up a 1st round pick for him, yet are yielding RZ play to another back. At this point, they have to just hope he eventually develops into Cedric Benson and not Curtis Enis. It's becoming pretty clear that's his ceiling, which for the #3 overall pick (and dealing a 1st rounder for) is bust territory.

[cue despairing music]

[Voice of Doom and Gloom]

Brandon Weeden cannot read defenses.

Brandon Weeden holds on to the ball too long.

Brandon Weeden has no mobility in the pocket.

Brandon Weeden has no touch on his passes.

Brandon Weeden has no control of the huddle.

Brandon Weeden failed as a professional baseball player.

Brandon Weeden went to the wrong OSU. He wore the wrong color orange. He lost to Iowa State.

Brandon Weeden is not one of us. He is not a blue collar guy. He does not "get" Cleveland. He has connections to Big Oil.

Brandon Weeden - bad for Cleveland ... bad for the Browns.

[switch to uplifting music]

[Voice of Truth and Reason]

But there is hope, there is an alternative to Brandon Weeden.

Brian Hoyer is a native Clevelander. Just like you, he grew up rooting for the Browns. His favorite player was Bernie Kosar.

Brian Hoyer graduated from Saint Ignatius. He played Big Ten football. He is a winner, on and off the field.

Brian Hoyer apprenticed under Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, two of the greatest minds in football.

Brian Hoyer has a quick mind and a quick release. He understands the quarterback position.

But most importantly, Brian Hoyer understands you, the Cleveland Browns fan. He fees your pain.

Brian Hoyer will be an All Pro quarterback.

Brian Hoyer will lead your team to the Super Bowl.

Brian Hoyer will bring a championship to the City of Cleveland!

Brian Hoyer - a true Cleveland Brown.

Brian Hoyer - the right choice, for all of us.
