Tannehill is starting to get 1st round buzz.

Him? Holy hell, when I saw his name mentioned earlier, I was thinking that he wouldn't be a bad guy to take a flier on in the 5th round. The first round?

Wow...Wynn actually started a game for us...I am in denial about how bad we really suck.
I was at that game...December 2000, vs Jacksonville...Fred Taylor looked like a Walter Payton/Jim Brown hybrid that day. Spergon Wynn looked like...a guy named Spergon. After Wynn was broken in half, they turned to Kevin Thompson. After his spirit was crushed, they turned to Doug Pederson. () I was proudly sporting my Chris Gardocki jersey. Ah, yes...back then sucking epically bad wasn't a big deal because it still just felt great having a team again...and we were all convinced better days were ahead. Whoops. Who could've known it would be a long, slow, death march? :(

Yeah, I've seen more than one mock draft that has had him in the 1st round. Not just the 1st round, the top half of the 1st round. But hey, he can throw really far. NFL GMs are retarded. :so:

With a broken foot (I believe 5th metatarsal.....I have wanted to type metatarsal for some time now) that will keep him out of the Senior Bowl and quite possibly keep him from participating in the Combines, I would be shocked if he went in the 1st round.

Wasn't aware that he was banged up. But, I have been reading that scouts have been drooling over his size, speed, and arm strength. Of course, they disregard the fact he plays the game like Ryan Leaf after popping his 15th oxy.

#3 QB. e!spn's draft site also has him as their #3 qb, but...well, it's e!spn.

Wish I could get your money back for that ticket....

I hate to admit this but before his broken foot, I too would have considered him #3 in this draft.....but that is more of an indictment on how shallow this draft appears to be at the QB position than anything Tannehill has actually done.

Not at all, nor did I remotely suggest it. :slappy:

I was referring to the luck of the Browns, and I thought it was pretty obvious. :slappy:

You'd better get a shutdown corner if you take one that high. Haden looks like good value with a 7 (if he gets some help), but I keep having Terrell Buckley, TOm Knight and Michael Booker nightmares every time I hear of a CB in the first round.

Of course when they talk about NFL tackles in the first round I flash back to Brian Jozwiak and Tony Mandarich too

browns news

Browns GM Tom Heckert plans to talk to the representatives for free agent Peyton Hillis "in the next week or so."

"We wouldn't be adverse to brining him back," Heckert said. "Now we have to see what else is available and what our plans are for our other free agents." Re-signing Hillis is clearly not a high priority. The Cleveland Plain-Dealer has consistently stated that the Browns will move on at tailback.

Browns GM Tom Heckert indicated that Colt McCoy enters the offseason atop the quarterback depth chart.

"Right now, Colt would be the guy," said Heckert. "We've seen enough of Colt that we think he has a chance to be a good player for us." Seneca Wallace didn't do enough in the final three games to overtake McCoy in the front office's eyes, though the Browns are a prime candidate to select Baylor's Robert Griffin III in this year's draft.

Sirius XM Radio's Adam Caplan still expects Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill to be drafted in the second round despite his fractured foot.

Tannehill was being talked about as a top-15, even top-10 pick before the injury, so this would still be something of a slide. For top prospects, pre-draft injuries don't always affect stock as much as initial speculation suggests. Demaryius Thomas broke his foot at around the same time Tannehill did in 2010 and was still a top-25 pick. Michael Crabtree went in the top-10 after foot surgery. Da'Quan Bowers fell out of round one, but that was a knee.
