Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

DickJar takes the blame for the game-losing play from last week:

"We've got to be ready to play defense,'' said Jauron. "That's my responsibility. I failed to get it done on that play.''
No shit?

D'Qwell Jackson was apparently waiting for the new call in his helmet for the nickel defense, and the players were all looking for him to make the critical call.
To solve the quicksnap issue, the corners will no longer go into the huddle, but receive hand signals.

Hey, I at least appreciate Jauron saying he fucked up. Accountability matters and the CB's not being in the huddle sounds good. But in a new defensive system, I hope they're all comfortable and sound (no pun intended) with their communication. Other wise we might see some mix-ups in the secondary. (Hope not)

Still inactive I think. Cant blame the Panthers for going with Cam, he is what they needed and I look forward to seeing him progress. I think Clausen will catch on somewhere, plenty of teams still need a QB.

The Destroyers might be a good fit. Think he could really stretch defenses in arena ball...

Ex-Browns, Ravens tackle Orlando 'Zeus' Brown found dead at 40

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Former Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Orlando "Zeus" Brown was found dead Friday at his Baltimore home. He was 40.

The cause of death wasn't known.

Fire spokesman Battalion Chief Kevin Cartwright said firefighters were called about 11 a.m. Friday because Brown was unresponsive at his home near the Inner Harbor. Cartwright said Brown was dead when firefighters arrived.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said firefighters called police, routine procedure in such cases. He said there were no signs of trauma or suspicious activity.

The Ravens learned of Brown's death during practice.

"We send our condolences to the family of Orlando Brown," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "Everybody knew what he meant to this organization. We're forever grateful for what he did for the present team. We can't express enough sorrow for his loss."

Brown began his career with the Cleveland Browns in 1993 and played twice for that team, as well as the Ravens, ending his NFL playing days in 2005.

Orlando Brown's most infamous moment came when he shoved Jeff Triplette to the ground after being hit in the eye by the referee's flag.

Very impressed with Haden, Sheard & Taylor. Some good young pieces to build a defense around. Sheldon is just too old to be effective anymore. Primo NFL defenses have 2 good CB's. We need a legit #2 man out there.

Offense started very slow again. I was pleasantly surprised by Hardesty though. If he stays healthy we could have a very solid rotation with him and Hillis. Great finish. That usually isn't the type of game that goes our way.

However I'm seeing Robo becoming more and more of an after-thought in this offense. MoMass is just making some good plays at this point.

Sheard has been a steal. You have to take the weak opposition into account, but yesterday was the first time in a long time that I can remember expecting a Browns player to get pressure on every single snap.
