With the 22nd pick of the 3rd round, the Cleveland Browns select:

Green Bay is on the clock.

obviously a bit later, but ironic nonetheless

Overall, I'd give this draft a C/C- so far. I like the Hayden pick given the circumstances, and while I'm not convinced 100% Colt can be a franchise QB, the kids a winner and you know he'll at the very least work his ass off. Lauvao should at the very least provide depth, but I'd like it a lot more if they hadn't botched the other two so badly. Ward is reach and there were many players sitting there that presented better value. He feels like Brodney Pool all over again. I honestly completely forgot Hardesty was even in this draft because NOBODY was talking about him. To trade two picks to move up and pick a Jamal Lewis (2009 version) clone is mind boggling. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but for all the excitement coming in, I'm rather disappointed. Getting Colt in Rd 3 saved it from me being irate.

Still stratching my head about Ward and Hardesty...

My problem with the Hardesty pick isn't Hardesty. I think he'll be a good back, but I honestly don't feel like RB is a position of need at the moment (compared to others). Our depth chart into next year without Hardesty looks like 1. Harrison 2. Davis 3. Hillis. I'm just not sure that Hardesty makes the RB group any better next year, whereas we could have potentially grabbed somebody who could contribute right away.

Alright boys, 5th rounder - this is where we take Thaddeus.

edit: I thought we had one more 5th rounder we didn't trade away? Am I wrong?

We traded some away to move up and get Hardesty

Yes, there is another 5th rounder (160). The Browns came into the draft with three 5th rounders, and traded away the two of them to move up for Hardesty.
