I hate me some Steelers, but they're a few more rape and weed incidents from keeping the Browns out of the cellar.

I'll believe it when I see it.

When healthy, their defense is still one of the best. It will probably win them more games than the Browns will win all year if they stay healthy.

Sucks, but it's the truth..

So, we have less than 24 hours. What KC and Seattle do will dictate our draft - and these next two classes ('10 '11) are going to be crucial to the success of this team IMHO.

I could bring up my long winded thoughts on the 3 possible scenario's. But I hope our office understands this is a deep draft, there are tons of playmakers to be found in the first 4 rounds easy. So with that said I just hope and pray these next 3 days are something I can be happy to talk about over the course of the off-season and maybe give me that pre-season excitement that I haven't had in some time.

Go Brownies!

It's weird. There are two teams I'm really looking forward to seeing how everything shakes down. My favorite team.. the Niners, and the Browns. Both have options to move around. Should be an exciting weekend.

Hopefully we all aren't disappointed. I actually have a good feeling though..

Here is an interesting proposition for everyone:

If Berry is at 7 do you take him or the Eagles just called and offered their 1st (24th), 2nd (37) , and a 4th (105). What do you do?

Cleveland #7 = 1500 points

Eagles #24 = 740 points
Eagles #37 = 530 points
Eagles #105 = 84 points

Total = 1354

See the draft value chart: Draft Countdown - Trade Value Chart

I'd counter offer, give me your #24, #37, and #55 and I'll trade.

That trade sounds like a decent one, but if Berry is still there I would make a team overpay for him. You dont get a chance to get an impact safety very often like Berry. Id counter with the 24, 37 and a conditional 1st or 2nd round pick next year. The 2011 pick would depend upon where it was slotted. If its top 14 it would convert to a 2nd round, if its 15 or lower it would be a 1st rounder. Just my thoughts on what I would think is fair for a potential game breaker at S.

I think the Browns should take Berry if they think he's their guy. Unless someone offers something outrageous, obviously, but I don't think anyone is going to be doing that.

Trading down to not take your guy sounds counterproductive. Even if you add depth picks. Game-breakers win games, depth keeps them close.

I think if it's a player that you really want you can force teams to overpay if they want to trade up. Worst case the Browns take Berry and are happy. If Berry is available when the Browns pick the only way they can screw it up is to not take him or trade the pick for less value. I'd put the odds on that at 5/50.

Cleveland Browns have options if safety Eric Berry is not available at 7th pick of 2010 NFL Draft | cleveland.com

? Option 1: Move up slightly in a trade to guarantee they come away with Berry.
The first tip of what could happen begins with Washington's pick at No. 4. Ever since the Redskins traded for Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb, everyone assumes they will choose an offensive left tackle, Oklahoma State's Russell Okung or Oklahoma's Trent Williams. But there is a chance -- albeit small -- that Washington coach Mike Shanahan will pull off the draft's first stunner and select Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen.

Yeah... fuck that...

But, I'm always of the opinion that if there's a guy you want... wait until someone takes him and get on the phone after...

See Butch Davis.
