Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

Oh, I agree.

It's just the whole ManKok () and Jets connection continues.

Yeah, I was just quoting you because you talked about it. Wasn't trying to make it sound like you didn't think it was good. :tongue2:

But yeah.. the Browns defense is going to resemble the Jets defense last year minus their game-changers.

They got a starting 3-4 DE, another guy to add depth to the secondary, a QB who won't see the field, and two more picks. Solid trade.

ummm......I think they got a starting safety, added depth at DE, and a QB that now allows them to trade Quinn or Anderson. Ratliff is a solid #2 at QB. What can they get for Anderson/Quinn??

Coleman was a solid DE in the Jets' 3-4 scheme last year, I wouldn't be surprised if he started at one of the DE spots.

I don't know anything about Abram Elam. Good if he's starter-worthy.

I seriously doubt Mangini is going to trade either Anderson or Quinn before training camp in July.

I believe that Elam is the guy the Browns tried to pick up earlier this spring by signing him to a restricted free agent offer sheet, but the Jets matched the Browns offer to keep him. So in the end, the Browns got who they wanted and this is something the secondary needs.

I don't think Coleman was a full-time starter, but he can (and will) play DE for the Browns.

Good, good trade for the Browns!

I hope you are wrong. IMO, Anderson should have been traded yesterday.

By the looks (and sound) of it, Mangini desires a strong run game and a passing game that is on the ball possession side of things. This style sounds much more suited to Quinn rather than Anderson.

Sadly, and tellingly, we don't seem to hear any rumors about anyone interested in Anderson.

Would have been nice to get more than a second and some potential starters for a top five pick.

At least another pick or something.

With that said, can't say I'm too disappointed so far depending on what they do with the picks now.

I probably am wrong, but something is telling me that if there was to be a trade it would have happened before the draft. Now I think the Browns are going to stand pat on the QB issue unless someone completely blows them away with a deal.

a ball-possession type of offense would be great, maybe they'll take Beanie to take the load off of Jamal??

well what they ended up with is better than what they've had, so I'm ok with it.

They weren't going to get a potential immediate starter on the d-line and a potential starter in the Defensive backfield without trading up or losing more picks.
