Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

If Jamal Lewis signs I would think that you don't pick AP with the 3? Trade down or pick Joe Thomas?

I don't know.

I can't imagine the Browns signing Lewis for a super long time, so maybe instead of AP, they trade the pick, take someone like Levi at OT and then get Pitt in the 2nd??

If he comes in with that gleam in his eye to screw with the Ravens, I'm all for it. Otherwise I just see us over-paying for a RB... I think we take one or the other of Lewis and Droughns.
And I think either way AP is still a guy they need to keep on the board.

Well at this point,as a Browns fan,I'm interested in anyone who can help us win some games regardless of their former team

I'm with you. As long as Lewis has a couple years of gas still left in him I say try and bring him in especially with RD do a rather large signing bonus next week.

Regarding the O-line, I would like to see the Browns take an OL in the first round whether it be Thomas or Brown. I think it is imperative that we start building our O-line from the draft rather than signing FA's every single year.

If we were to draft Thomas, that would be fine but I think we need to trade down and pick Levi. Levi is still a great tackle he reminds me of a young Flozell Adams who is more than servicable. Hopefully we can get another 2nd round pick and can really make up some ground with the extra pick. We could pick Tank Tyler to be the future nose tackle, and the second second round pick could be a luxury pick where they can go in a number of directions, Drew Stanton,Sidney Rice,or Micheal Bush, just a thought

I hear there is this bald WR who is pretty fast and has sure hands that should be available in the 2nd.
I've also heard rumor of some junior RB who ran the same 40 as Peterson at the combine and comes from a pound-the-ball conference. :paranoid:

Anyway, I really like Levi too. I think there is still a lot of value around the 5-15 range, including some DL options that wouldn't be a huge reach if Levi isn't there.

True,I actually said that under the assumption that gonzo would be gone by then, but that would be a heluva pick for us,he would be so clutch for the Browns in third downs sort of like a way more athletic Wayne Crebet or dare I say,the next Brian Brennan lol. And as far as Pitt, I'm a die hard buckeye fan but I think Micheal Bush has more to offer than Pittman, but that just my own opinion

I think it depends on what kind of back they want. If we're keeping Droughns and/or picking up Jamal Lewis -- I'd prefer Pittman. Bush is a power back at the end of the day. But I wouldn't complain about either of them.

Please don't sign Jamal Lewis. :(
We will have a franchise back sitting at the #3 pick and I just don't see him as a significant upgrade over Droughns at this point in his career.

Hey man,to tell you the truth I'm with you on that one but hey, either player provides a significant upgrade over one hit wonder Droughns. At least now that we have Lewis,we have some stability at running back. If we had AP,we would have had to deal with the learning curve,JL has at least 3 seasons of top-level ability.
