Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

Anderson is not as mobile as Frye, but the Browns believe that he'll be helped by an offensive line that is at least becoming average. It should do so after adding Eric Steinbach and Joe Thomas, along with Ryan Tucker's recovery from emotional problems.

WTF is this shit? I believe our line has blown past average. If the line gets to stay together for the next 3 months I think its on its way to being the best O-line in 10-15 years?

Am I too optimistic (barring injuries, I know SOMEONE will get hurt, its a curse I tell you)?

I'll shoot for at least average with the potential to be good to really good. Lets see what it looks like for week 1 of the season.

I've never played the OL in my life, but I've heard it stated that playing guard is easier on one's knees than center. If that's the case I think just keep Bentley at guard and Fraley at Center. I thought Fraley was very solid at center last year.

LT-Thomas
LG-Steinbach
C-Fraley
RG-Bentley
RT-Tucker

I think that is a VERY solid OL, and then you throw in a 6th man like Schaffer, and I think we could be on to something.

intuitively, i would think the converse is true since the center doesn't have a man over him most of the time.

I would agree with you here, but I beleive the majority of defenses in the NFL nowadays are 3-4 defenses. That would mean a nose tackle lines up over the center. Again maybe I'm wrong but I know the Steelers, the Ranvens, the Falcons, the Texans, Browns and the Pats all run a 3-4. That's all I can think of for certain off the top of my head but I'm sure there's more.
