Anything we get from LeCharles at this point, be it this year or next, would be a bonus in my book. Damn shame.

Agreed. Not like his wallets hurting with all his endorsementsexhawg;844005; said:Give him a contract that is mostly incentives and will give him top 10 money if he plays like Peyton Manning. If he plays like Tim Couch he should get bottom 1st round money. The signing bonus will the the sticking point, but hopefully he is smart enough to make sure he's in camp on time since his career pretty much rides on it. If he's as good as he thinks he is the second contract will be his big money contract.

Bodden on the mend
Goal after surgery is training camp

Plain Dealer Reporter
Browns starting cornerback Leigh Bodden revealed Thursday night that he underwent right ankle surgery recently and will miss the team's June minicamp.
"My goal is to be ready for training camp," said Bodden, who missed seven games last season with sprains on both ankles. "I really don't want to bang it up in minicamp."
Bodden, who was attending Gary Baxter's Celebowl fund-raiser downtown at the Corner Alley, said he underwent the surgery about two months ago and described it as "a cleanup of cartilage and things. It was just supposed to heal, but in the off-season it was still hurting, so I had to have the surgery."

Edwards promises to fulfill expectations
Thursday, May 17, 2007 Tony Grossi
Plain Dealer Reporter
Browns receiver Braylon Edwards made two pledges at Lincoln-West High School on Wednesday.
One was for $1 million in academic scholarships through the Braylon Edwards Foundation to 100 carefully selected eighth-grade students from the Cleveland Municipal School District.
The other was to his team, his coach and Browns fans.
This year I want to be the guy that they drafted," Edwards said. "I want to be what Romeo Crennel deserves. I want to be what the city expects me to be."
Since the Browns made him the third overall pick of the 2005 draft, Edwards has suffered the image of a "me-first" player.
The image took on a life of its own last season, even after Edwards made good on his promise to be ready for Game 1 after knee surgery the year before.
"A lot of things happened. There was a snowball effect," he said.
