Really? It's literally the one position I've worried about all year.
We've only signed 4 total corners in the last 3 classes.

We're already thin. I'd much rather be gaining depth there than losing it or staying even.

Don't get me wrong ... I have full confidence that coaches will figure things out. Whether they go find some gems like in the past, or they use the transfer portal.
But IMHO, corner has been a main position of need for the past 2 years.

I mean, if we do lose out on Phillips, we will rebound, plus if it is a position of need, we probably will do like we did with Kendall Sheffield and go elite transfer portal route and we will be fine.

Yeah, I’m extremely concerned about CB moving into next season. We’re paper thin at the position. I’d have to imagine that Banks and Brown start at the edges, with Riep taking over the slot role that Wade plays. Proctor at the one high safety.

Behind those three corners we have Williamson and Johnson, who have yet to make the jump, and two raw true frosh who probably need a year of coaching before they’re ready to play at this level.

Still need more but they've actually signed 5 CB's in last three classes (Johnson, Banks, Brown, Cavazos, Watts). Let the new DB coach go out and find an under the radar developmental guy he likes to add to this class (or as you mentioned transfer portal if there's a good fit).

from UCLA for example.
