Clarett spilling the beans

Fellow Buckeye Fans,

Everyone seems to be missing the point. We have a situation here that will not go away! We can say that the student/athlete is responsible for their own actions. That is NONSENSE! It's called "lack of institutional control." Someone or something (tOSU) is going to swing for this and for a number of reasons.

1. The mood/climate regarding higher education in America is changing.
2. The basketball fiasco of last year.
3. Maldonado and his worthless credits.
4. The tutor "whistleblower."

and on and on and on. **** really does roll downhill.

Please don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger.

Moron. The NCAA already cleared us of that, at least on the football side. Maldonado's credits weren't all "worthless"...read back in this thread for the examples, such as some of those credits being non-transferable because they didn't have those course at Maryland and others being remedial (don't blame OSU for his being a dumbass). Also, the tutor "weenieblower" is a bitter psycho and none of her accusations were proven.

Have some licorice reps, beyatch.

It's called "lack of institutional control."
This phrase can be applied to many things. However, an institute cannot control a player's life 24/7/365 therefore an institute cannot control who a player may be with, booster or otherwise. It is a lack of institutional control if the institution arranges meetings with a booster so that money can be exchanged.

The mood/climate regarding higher education in America is changing
What do you mean by this?

Maldonado and his worthless credits
Sammy's fault 100%. Without scrolling back, I seem to recall that he had 41 quarter hours at OSU. How many of those were remedial math and remedial english, credits that will not transfer to any accredited institution. For the sake of argument, let's assume that he had 5 hours of each. That leaves a total of 31 quarter hours that could be eligible to transfer. Since Maryland is a semester school, to convert to semester hours you multiply by (2/3). So 31*(2/3) = 20.66. Didn't Sammy state that 17 of the hours transferred? By my calculations, that seems about right since he probably had more than 10 hours of remedial coursework. At some point it is up to the student to uphold his end of the bargain in being a student-athlete. It sure seems that Krenzel had no problem doing just that.

The tutor "whistleblower."
Are you referring to "Crazy" McGill? If so, that chapter has long been closed by the OSU committee that investigated and the NCAA.

Not shooting you crashcup, but like any other student at OSU, or any other institution, the student-athlete is responsible for his/her own actions.

That has got to be one of the most ignorant posts I have seen here in awhile. How is it that an otherwise grown adult who can join the military, vote, and get married, can't make decisions of what classes he wants to take or how to abide by NCAA rules; or more importanly just determine whats right or wrong? I don't ever remember wet nurses being assigned to student/athletes who made all our decisions on scholastic and football endeavors. Grades are soley up to the student!!! Abiding by NCAA rules while on/off the field is the STUDENTS responsibility!!! He was given a FRAKIN full ride to a major university and given the possibility to go onto a fruitfull Pro career if he abided by the rules and respected his teammates and Coaches and went to classes. He FAILED all accounts all by himself. He chose to seek out "perks" himself. He chose not to go to class and he chose not to abide by NCAA rules. That was ALWAYS his decisions to make of what's right and wrong. His alone made that decision !!!! Coach Tressel may have faults (One may be his Offense as of late haha) but his reputation has a million times more credibility than Maurice Claretts and that so called journalist named Tom Friend. I don't know which is worst; Maurice Clarett, who seems to still be an immature young adult who is still pointing the fingures in all the wrong directions for the bad things that have happened to him; or the ignorant so called journalist who broke this dumb story without even checking all the facts and then too boot saying that Coach Tressel threatened Maurice Claretts' family with absolutely no proof; or some of these ignorant people who beleive all this drivel.

1st. Compare MoC's reputation with JT's who do you think wins out?

2nd. Why does MoC wait until now to start talking? Need Cash?

3rd. The NCAA just performed a colonoscopy on tOSU. Find anything?

4th. Out of all the former and current players at tOSU we have one guy making allegations, and a couple more criminals who were misquoted. Got Proof?

5th. Although I belive MoC is a liar, and this is all bullshit, there is a good possibility that some of the star athletes receive extra perks. For example: MoC comes into your dealership, and needs a ride. You are a di-hard buckeye fan, and you are doing pretty well for your self. Loaning one car out for a month or so wont hurt you. What will you do? Its the same thing with the boosters, and alumni. They see these guys in get togethers, and give them $100 to support the team. I wouldn't be surprised at all to lean that happens at OSU, it happens at every university that has the fans and the boosters to make it happen. USC OU FSU TENN UF UM scUM WISKY, even teams like Cinci and NW, they all will have these activities. How can a university keep a car dealer from loaning a student a car? I don't think that JT or the university itself has any direct knowledge of such activities, but they probably know they occur, and they probably don't mind it very much.

6th However, if JT or any member of the AD has played any part in this, the university needs to clean house right now. Look at Alabama to find out what happens when a university tries to cover things up. If JT had a part in this then you can forget about everything good that he has done. NC, what NC? If we were in serious violation it is only a memory, we will have to forfeit it. Like I said earlier, I don't believe JT and the AD has a hand in this, but if they did and do then prepare for the worst.

For those of you who haven't read the whole thread, this nugget came from HolyBuckeye on page 14. I thought it was worth seeing again.

It happened on East Market St. in Warren across from the sunrise inn, a local pizza joint, at a hang out spot named Central Cafe. Kory Stinger memorial service was held at Avalon Lakes Gulf Course. This was the 1 year memorial for Big number 77 passing. Clarett was drunk and running his mouth, he was saying that he didn't understand what the big deal was about Kory seeing as how he put Warren on the map and was the best player to come out of Warren not Stringer. Fromer Buckeye Lashaun Daniels O-line Kory Stinger's cousin didn't take MoC's comments very well. One right cross to Clarett big mouth and MoC was out for about 5 mins., I heard he pissed his pants when he was flat on his back. This did happen folks.

I just posted in another thread where I thought the mistake ESPN made was not in reporting MoC's comments, but in using them in the wrong story.

Stitch together half of the anecdotes on MoC that have emerged in the past 24 hours and you have a fascinating - and truthful - piece.
