Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

Ronald Acuna signed an 8 year, $100 million contract extension in 2019. Corbin Carroll signed an 8 year, $111 million contract extension this spring. If I were the Reds, I would be trying to lock EDLC up to something similar to Carroll’s contract right now. I know it has only been two weeks, but what more do you need to see from him to know he is the real deal? The Hunter Greene contract was a good start, but they need to take a chance and follow the Braves blueprint of locking up their star young players early. And they have Votto’s albatross deal coming off the books at the end of the season, so it is perfect timing. It just makes sense to buy out a couple of the first free agents seasons while these guys are in their primes and extend that competitive window as long as possible. Not to mention you are paying fair market value for prime years and not overpaying for back end of career years like Votto’s contract. Hopefully, these big home crowds this weekend as compared to what they were even 5 or 6 weeks ago will show the front office that fans will come watch and support a good product, so go invest in your young players, Bob!

EDLC was going for the cycle the moment it left the barrel. Never once looked for a stop sign from 3rd.

They stopped giving him signs after the first week. 3b coach had no clue how to advise him and wasn't ready for his speed so they just said, "do your thing kid."

He's constantly got a green light. We're going to keep being amazed every single day.

- Senzel in RF today for Fraley facing a LH. Might be the beginning of the platoon.

-Newman at 3B, India DH, Stephenson takes a seat. Casali catching.

I think maybe Bell is starting to come to grips with who is players are and who they are not.
