Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

So the hits just keep coming for the starting pitching. Looks like Greene isn't coming back until August.

Lodolo is still in a walking boot, with his next checkup scheduled for Wednesday, the earliest he might be cleared to have the boot removed. His targeted timeline for a return is sometime in August.

The uncertainty of Greene's progress, including the series of medical tests late this week associated with a second medical opinion on his injury, could push his timeline far enough into July that a rehab assignment could become necessary -- putting his return into the August range as well.

Fuck me running. They are literally running out of people to pitch the required amount of innings.

Our rotation is now
Abbott
Pray for rain
Weaver
Williamson
Asscrack
Pray for more rain
?????

That's 4 dudes for a 5 man rotation on any particularly dry weather week and 3 of the 4 suck donkey dick.

Krall is going to be in a really tough spot. If he doesn't make a move people are going to go nuts as a contender is left to watch the season slip down the drain. If he does make a move for SP he's going to have to massively overpay and likely shorten the window of contention for this core of players a la the 2010-2013 teams.

Weaver is doing the best he can do, he just isn't that good. Asscrack and Williamson need to step it the fuck up.

Big time.

They bought the contract of a guy (Wynne) who was pitching independent ball not that long ago. His fastball (by all accounts) sits at 90.

Velo isn't everything but oh man

From MLBTR:
Wynne is an undrafted right-hander who pitched in independent baseball for parts of the 2016-19 seasons before finally catching on with the Reds in 2019. He continued with the organization after the canceled 2020 minor league season, pitching at Double-A in 2021 and then at Triple-A in each of the last two years. Wynne doesn’t record many strikeouts or grounders, as he relies on soft contact and an impressive walk rate to keep batters in check. Over 164 1/3 innings at Triple-A, the 30-year-old Wynne has a 4.82 ERA over 164 1/3 innings, starting 29 of 38 games.
