Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

They could have extended Mahle last year and just think how much better that would have made the whole pitching staff. He was eating innings and winning,... This isn't about Lodolo getting shelled tonight (for some reason Mahle's dominance popped back into my head), but just the general indifference toward winning by ownership, and how hopeless it is if they won't be willing keep proven winners on the team.

The Pirates just scored more runs in a three-game road sweep (33) than they have since 1975. They have 9 consecutive quality starts.

The Reds have lost their last two games by a combined 18-0 score, at home. I think I have an inkling of what happens the next 4 days.

The Reds go to Pittsburgh as the Pirates return home from a triumphant road trip. The Yinzers are excited, although the weekend weather may put a damper on crowds. Nevertheless, the Reds take 3 of 4 and by Sunday night refrains of "same old Pirates" echo throughout the 'Burgh.

The Pirates are now trolling their fans. We know what comes...

2nd longest stretch in Reds history between homeruns reached today, 300 ABs. And counting...
They are dreadful.

Also, Stephenson’s bat doesn’t play at DH or 1B imo. He’s just an empty batting average guy which is good for a catcher but nowhere near enough for those two slugger spots (assuming we ever have sluggers again)

I was thinking how sweet it would be to have Adam Dunn right now on this roster. Wouldn't have to see him floundering in the field but every once in a while, a ball might go in the river. Ah, the good ol days.

The Donkey was an anachronism. He would be valued for what he was worth in the game of the past few years. Also wouldn’t have to deal with that fucking moron Marty.

My father in law went to Belterra Park (old Eastside Racino) and placed a $100 bet on the over 67 wins for the Reds this year.
When I learned this, I chuckled that that was easy money. A push would be a 5 game improvement from last year, a winning ticket would cash if the Reds won six games more than 2022.

I think he's going to have to sweat it out.
I don't really understand the team. There are games when they look uber competitive against good Teams (Rays, Phillies, Braves) and there are games when they get their absolute asses kicked.
