Cincinnati Reds 2020 Season (useless twatwaffles in the playoffs)

Thom probably got himself canned tonight.

Some people in this country may drop dead if they ever go to England and hear someone ask for a fag. (It's a cigarette there, btw)

Should he use that word on the air? No. Is it so horrific that every news article about it can't even say what word he actually used? No.

I can't even imagine the work environment if he felt comfortable enough to say that. That word was thrown around as a playground insult back in my days, nothing homophobic about it. Times have changed for the better, very unprofessional of him. Make the guy give a genuine apologize and move on, he's always been solid at least for CFB and NFL. I don't really follow MLB so pardon my ignorance if he's a terrible Reds commentator.

you simply just can’t say fag. period. let alone refer to a city as a fag capitol. with that said, he has been a pro for a long time. being suspended for the rest of the season for Reds games and his NFL duties a fine and extensive sensitivity training should be enough to earn a second chance. i am sick of cancel culture. i am not condoing what he said. it was deplorable. but given his history i would not fire him for it because this shit had to end somewhere.

He did apologize right before they took him off the broadcast. In general to the people he may have offended and more specifically "to the people that sign his paychecks". It was a pathetic attempt at an apology -- clearly just begging to keep his job. "It's not who I am" -- uh, yeah it clearly is who you are Thom.

I don't really give a fuck if he gets fired. It's not fucking "cancel culture" to fire someone for saying something offensive live on air.

Your stance is completely fair, obviously that kind of language will not be tolerated in the workplace. I grew up in a different time, if my father ever heard me saying that shit I'd get a stern talking to.

Honestly, I don't really care if he keeps his job either -- as long as he faces some appropriate discipline. I'm definitely not in the "HE MUST BE FIRED OR ELSE!" camp, but I'm sure as fuck not going to feel bad for him if he gets canned.
