Cincinnati Reds (2017 official thread of moose knuckle)

Hopefully it doesn't get overlooked in all this talk about Home Runs and RBI's but Votto went 1 for 3, drew a walk and left 3 guys on base for Scooter to drive in.

It will get overlooked that Cozart was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, to raise his consecutive on-base streak to 28 games, and his slash line to .353/.439/.626/1.065 !!!

Probably 2nd all-time behind the equally unlikely 6-for-6, 4 HR game by Shawn Green when he was with the Dodgers.

I dunno about equally unlikely. Shawn Green ended up with 328 career homers in 7,082 - one every 22 ABs. Gennett had 38 in his entire career (in 1637 ABs) before last night -- one every 43 AB. He just jumped his career total by 10%!

Gennett had a HR rate of 2.32% - the chance of hitting 4 in a row works out to 1 in 3.5 million at that rate.

Fair enough. Maybe unlikely isn't the right word, but Green's numbers between 98-02 are shady as hell in retrospect.

It's like Cozart having the most unlikely breakout season in his 30s since Bret Boone went to the Mariners.

What the fuck are they passing around the Reds clubhouse (besides Joey Votto)?
