Cincinnati Reds (2017 official thread of moose knuckle)

Don't have a problem with the fact they're about to trade Billy Hamilton, do have a problem with the fact they are going to make a bad trade and they aren't going to get anything for him

Then you have a problem because they will fuck this up as sure as you were born.

Me, I'm interested because I want to see if I can come up with a word to describe their next "Reds being the Reds" thing.

It's a game I play to get me through

The Cincinnati Reds trade outfielder Frank Robinson to the Baltimore Orioles, in exchange for the pitchers Milt Pappas and Jack Baldschun and the outfielder Dick Simpson

Reds leave Trevor Hoffman, a top prospect, unprotectected in the expansion draft and watch him put up hall of fame numbers?

Good examples, and you have my sincere condolences. But Charlie freakin' Morton? Doing something no pitcher has EVER done in MLB postseason history, and it's a positive thing? :argh:

I gotta say, my Orioles trading Pete Harnisch, Curt Schilling and Steve Finley - all in their prime or just about to enter their primes - for Glenn Fuckin Davis, has to be on the Mount Rushmore of awful trades....

That one had to hurt badly. Finley and Harnisch by themslves were overpaying...but Schilling was the O's #1 prospect and had all the hype of a strassburg back then. I know the O's questioned his attitude and work ethic and feared he would be more likely to die in a meth lab explosion than win multiple titles.

It basically wasted 4 years of Cal's prime waiting for Ratiel Palmeroid, Robby AloAids and Mike Mussina to show up for their mid-90s runs but yeah, it sucked the life out of the franchise for a couple years. Pair Harnisch with Schilling, Jimmy Key and Mike Mussina with what they had offensively and they absolutely cash in a title or two in the mid-90s before the Skankees got good again....
