Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

That measurement on the 3rd and short run by Mixon was fucking ridiculous. Was so close the refs had to look at it for 5 seconds. No space between the stick and the football, and they decide it’s 4th and inches? Wat.

Didn’t matter because that play call on 4th took some serious balls, and it resulted in the W.

McPherson is going to be an absolute legend.

Happy to have the win, but man it didn't need to be that tough.

Frank Pollack has to be extremely happy with today’s OL performance. Kept Burrow pretty clean for the most part, and got Mixon a 100 yard game.

I thought Burrow took too many hits. 5 sacks and a couple more hits (Bengals doled out a whopping 1.1 sacks per game last year). On one of those Burrow went down awkwardly on the repaired knee, where it bent to the inside with the weight of the DL on top of him. He didn't throw a pass for a while after that play.

Burrow also needs to know when to get rid of the ball. He took two sacks today where he held the ball too long. No excuses for the OL, but they can’t hold those blocks forever.

Will the Bengals win 7+ games this season?

The Bengals just aren't that good. The only way they have a chance is to take some chances to "steal some games". Going for it on 4th and 1 from their 30 with a 14 point lead didn't pan out and almost cost them the game. However, the 4th and less than an inch pass at midfield with 39 seconds to play that setup the winning FG did.

Was more disappointed the spot of the ball wasn’t challenged on that play, anyways. Chase was tackled at the 31 and they spotted it a full yard short.

Well, we're 1-0... I'll take it. Lots of stuff to nitpick at, but also things to be encouraged by. I'll focus on the good. The OL looked very much improved after a shaky start, particularly in getting a push in the run game. Defense looked WAY more physical and I'm honestly liking that side of the ball. Burrow was damn near perfect imo, dime after dime... although he does really need to learn to manage getting hit regularly, a lot of that was on him and we simply can't have him hurt again this year. After an extremely disappointing Ohio State loss, was nice to get this win and some form of redemption today.

Nasty natty opening as a road dog to CHI.

The front 7 did some quality work against Minny's Oline and the bears aren't any better up front.

Thinking about taking CIN straight up on the money line. Thoughts from my southern Ohio buckeyes?

So long as there aren’t any injuries, I’d say that’s a safe bet to take. The only thing that worries me is TE’s seem to be the biggest problem for this defensive scheme. Can’t really afford to allow Graham to go off, otherwise this game becomes a coin flip. But I’d still take that bet all things considered.

Graham and his 100 year old knees don't concern me in that case. Cole Kmet would.

Agree. It's the Bengals.

What could possibly go wrong?
