Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

I know the Bengals were missing Reader, Hubbard, WJ III, Waynes, and at least one other player on defense, but I’m thinking it’s time to put an end to Anarumo as DC. The guy just does not adjust. Opposing offense make their changes, and he stays running soft zones and man at the worst times. There were times today where it felt like they were running Cover 4 and just hoping for the best while Mayfield hit 15 yard pass over the middle after 15 yard pass...

A lot of people want Taylor gone as HC, but I actually like what he’s doing with the offense, and he made some really nice adjustments at the half today to keep Burrow as clean as he could with the OL he has. I don’t think it’s smart to fire a HC in the middle of the season, in the middle of a rebuild. But I think next season will be a put up or shut up year. He won’t need to set the league on fire, but a 7-8 win season will probably be needed to keep his job.

Do you even Mike Brown, bro?

Wholeheartedly agree with this. The defensive players are actually playing well considering the injuries, but the scheme is absolutely fucking us. We need a change there. And I actually like what Taylor has done so far and the offense has been pretty fun to watch. Even last year I thought the offense was pretty innovative with what we had. Keep Taylor, can the defensive staff, and hold the feet to the fire on Taylor next year.

Cincinnati Bengals trade Carlos Dunlap to Seattle Seahawks, source says

Veteran defensive end Carlos Dunlap has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for offensive lineman B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
.
.
.
‪Finney was projected to be the Seahawks' starting center when they gave him a two-year, $8 million deal in March, but Ethan Pocic earned the job. Finney is making $2.5 million in base salary this season, so Seattle will get a little cap relief there.‬

If the Bengals don't think they can sign A. J. Green to a long term deal they definitely should trade him too. He's not worth what he'd get for a second "franchise tag". At 1-5-1 they "ain't going nowhere" this season....

Players can be tagged in consecutive years, but it's costly. For a player to be franchise tagged two straight years, the team must pay 120 percent of the player's previous salary. If it's three straight years, the team must pay the player 144 percent of his previous salary.

$17.865M x 120% = $21.438M

You could get a couple real good OL (to protect Burrow) for that.

NFL trade deadline 2020: One trade each team should make, 32 different scenarios

From A.J. Green to Stephon Gilmore, a look at blockbuster possibilities ahead of the deadline

Cincinnati Bengals

Acquire: 2021 fourth-round draft pick, 2022 seventh-round draft pick (Titans)
Trade: WR A.J. Green

If Cincy can swallow pride and deal Carlos Dunlap, it sure as heck can do the same for Green. They clearly have other WRs ready to carry the load beyond 2020 (see: Higgins, Tee). Green's also bound to head elsewhere in free agency anyway.

I like the Dunlap trade. Sure, he'll probably suddenly be productive in Seattle but he was God awful in Cincy this year. Hopefully the OL we got is half decent and can help protect Joey.

As to trading Green, might not be a bad time as he's started to look better the last couple weeks. We're not going to resign him anyways and the season is over, might as well get some value for him and let Burrow build a rapport with the other receivers.

They could take his salary and buy a decent left tackle and a couple of guys who can pass block so that Burrow will be able to walk at the end of the season but they won’t.
