Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

For those of you not familiar with Cincinnati's internecine humor, this is West Side humor, a result of a century of inbreeding amongst those who settled west of Vine Street. Hudepohl himself lived on the East Side and his heirs formed Sam Adams Brewery in Boston and then revitalized the old one back in Cincinnati to brew up even more Sam and a really nice Hudepohl Amber Lager.

In the time prior to Heilman buying up all the old labels, Hudepohl was the first or second best in an undistinguished field of Weidemann, Bavarian, Schoeling, and Burger. Burger was the real shits, but they brought the Red's radio broadcasts with regional legend Wayte Hoyt. Schoeling made Little Kings Cream Ale, 8 ounce bottles, but packed a punch and tasted much better than anything alse brewed in town.
