The same is true for the D-line as well. First and second round picks and free agents galore and virtually every time the other team needs a third down they're able to get one. Game after game....same story.

Is it really the talent or the scheme/coaches...?

We've changed players season after season and nothing much improves. The one thing we haven't changed is the head coach.

Maybe it's time to try that....?

What happened to the two DT’s that started the SB against the Rams. They were ass kickers and made Stafford’s life hell that game

Shame to lose that one, but we know the script against KC. That said, we lost both starting DTs fairly on (on top of being hair thin at DE with the injuries there), plus still no Tee. All things considered, we played pretty damn well and the play calling on both sides of the ball was much better. But 0-2 is still 0-2 unfortunately and we are yet again in a hole early on while key players drop like flies early in the season. Sounds familiar right?

Defense gave everything to win that game and got shafted at the end. Total bullshit PI call.

Higgins needs to come back soon because Chase is going to end up getting suspended or just quit because of his contract. His outburst today was a fucking disgrace. Sorry Cincy, you deserve better than that.

Need Higgins, Mims, Murphy, and Jenkins back. All four would solidify some of the weaknesses on the team. ANYONE at DT would suffice at this point as everyone is dropping like flies. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen from Jay Tufele though. Kind of hope he stays in the rotation.

That was absolutely terrible by Chase and reminiscent of player behavior during Marvin Lewis' tenure. Not even Burrow could get him calmed down and that was a costly mistake that obviously could be avoided by focusing on the task at hand.

On the PI call, I am a pretty biased Bengals fan and that was PI...he got there way too early. The shame is that the WR was not likely catching the ball since it was so high and it would have been game over with that. Then you also have McPherson missing an extra point and we lose...by one point. We sure know how to find a way to lose.

User Whitty brings up a good point. The defender can get there early. I believe he is correct - he has a right to go for the ball. Our defender wasn't just tackling him early, he was going for the ball. Looking at the replay, I don't think he was there way too early. This seems to demonstrate Tony Romo isn't really familiar with PI nuances. And there was a blatant hold on one of our DL's as Mahomes was scrambling right in front of him. Reminiscent of that hold that Orlando Brown had on Hendrickson on that last play in the AFC championship game in Jan. '23.

Oh well, if we can come that close to beating the Chefs without most of our DL, Higgins, and with Burrow's wrist weakness, maybe a few other teams will have enough to beat them this year, and Bengals will end up with a better record.
