Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Trololololol we just drafted the first kicker at the top of the 5th round. Fuck this team.

This draft is just all over the board, not sure what to think really. Looking more at Willis, it seems like a pretty good pick. The Lawson pick is a great one in my books where we got him...even better is getting Jordan Evans at LB in the 6th. I also really like Josh Malone in the 4th, he has a lot of talent and gives us a big-bodied WR that we wanted to get in and pair with Ross to help at the WR position. But then we take a kicker in the 5th that should have went undrafted (if you are taking one, take the one the Browns took), some RB/CB from Houston and of course the POS woman-beater in the 2nd. I hope the center we took in the 5th from Utah is good though, because Bodine needs replaced (would have loved Elflein in the 2nd over Mixon...or we should have got the Vikings 3rd round pick for moving back and we would have got himt here). Oh, and we took a player from scUM as well...that being said, Glasgow could be a decent rotational player.

Random trivia: the Bengals clinched their first division title in the final week of the 1970 season, despite enduring a 6 game losing streak that year, by defeating the Boston Patriots. Sam Wyche finished the game at QB for Cincinnati. Marty Schottenheimer was a LB for the Patriots, his final game as a player.

Now, about that kicker in the 5th round...

Didn't realize we got Andre Smith back, that is a huge addition I missed. Apparently the plan is that he plays guard, but moves out to RT if Fisher doesn't step up. While that makes me feel way better about the line, the fact of the matter is that if Fisher and Ogbhei don't step it up, it's going to be a rough season. If they do, I feel a lot better about the offense this year with the weapons we added.

Got a good laugh out of this headline

Are Bengals Super Bowl contenders?

:lol::lol::lol:

But in other news, Decker was released from the Jets. If it were for the right price, I would love to see him in Cincy. I think he has at least one more good year in the tank and could provide a veteran boost. Not sure we have the money to make it happen and I know Cincy hates to be active in the free agency market, but I think he could be a great fit to give at least a 1 year contract to.

Joe Mixon will be a star for the Bengals. The Sooner Nation thanks you guys for drafting him and giving him the chance to redeem himself in Cincinnati!

This young man made a terrible mistake on a night when he could have made a better choice instead of approaching that woman and then striking her in the face. I'm grateful that Stoops and now Mike Brown and the entire Bengals' organization have given Joe the second chance he deserves.

You don't know a lot about Cincinnati do you?

Promising careers go there to die, not to actually fulfill their promise.

We have just the offensive line to crush this man's career. I'm really hoping a couple of the young guys step up. And Ogbuehi absolutely has to perform this year, otherwise it's going to be an agonizing 7-9 type season.

What about the careers of Geno Atkins, A.J. Green, and Andy Dalton?

The Bengals are no different than the Cowboys. Both franchises are all about ticket sales and offering "second chances" to guys like Greg Hardy, but neither of them have been much of a factor in the postseason the last 20 years.

I'll see you those 3 guys and raise you guys like;
Ki-Jana Carter
Akili Smith
David Klingler
Odell Thurman
David Pollak
Chris Perry
Peter Warrick

I'm sure Bengal fans can add to the list.

If you are wanting a happy ending, Ohio pro sports is not the best place to set your story my friend. That is just the ugly truth of it.
