Was a designed dump off. So thank the Offensive Coordinator. If the red dumbass doesn't make that dumbass throw he doesn't get hurt on the tackle.
Two consecutive dump off/screens is about the most foolish thing you can do coming out of the halftime break. You had 15-20 minutes to come up with something to get Mccarron going, and that's what they came up with?Yeah, that quick out to William Gay was horrible.
Eifert's concussion hurt this offense more than Dalton, IMO. If Mccarron has Eifert as an option in the passing game, the game is a lot closer. I don't think they would have won, but he kills the middle of defenses.
Yeah, not having the secondary at full strength really hurts. The pass rush at least slowed the vertical passing threat today, but you're right. The Bengals need those guys healthy if they want ANY success in the post season. That is half of my thought. Eifert is a bigger loss than Dalton (not that I think McCarron is an upgrade, Dalton is playing well). But the real big losses are the defensive players. Pacman, Dennard, Hall, Shawn Williams, Burfict, Iloka...I mean [Mark May], that is a lot of guys. We can't "next man up" against an offense as good as Pitt. The Replacements was a great movie but in reality does not work. We need some of these guys back.
