Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Love it. Knew that he was the pick, but loved hearing it live on the 1st pick. Also love Taylor's response in saying that he is excited to get him at #1 is great because we never want to have a top 10 pick again. Obviously I am highly skeptical based on...well, my entire 31 years of existence, but I am going to let myself be excited for now and hope it works out for the best.

On that end, the next few picks are crucial. We had what I would consider an excellent FA period that helps narrow down the draft. I am pretty torn on our pick in the next round. Xavier McKinney is an INCREDIBLE value, as would be Winfield or Delpit. But with picking up Bell to add to Bates and Williams, not really sure you can justify the "best man available" approach. There was also a run on OL, which could have been another area of need. RB could be great with JK and Taylor, but we are set there.

So...my thought is we take Baun at LB, Gross-Matos or Epenesa at DE, or Higgins or Pittman at WR (I would be thrilled with any of those really), or trade back and get some extra picks. Could not have lucked out more on being able to get Burrow, but I feel like the positions of need mostly got thinned out in the latter part of the 1st round. My preference is Epenesa or Baun personally (would usually say any of McKinney, Winfield or Delpit if that was a need), but we'll see...just think both fit well into the AFC North and are 1st round level talents.

Alright, even as a pessimistic Bengals fan, the staff gets an A+ on the draft so far for me. Burrow is just obvious. The Higgins is a fantastic pick in the 2nd round, seriously have been saying he might be the best WR in this draft class (although who the hell knows, could be like 20 different guys)...makes sense in a lot of ways. If Green is not 100% or gets hurt again, Higgins is a similar player, although obviously Green in his prime is tough to match. But Higgins should be an immediate impact and I love a world where Burrow has Green, Boyd, Higgins, Ross, Tate and Erickson to throw to...that is a damn good receiver group.

Then the Logan Wilson pick at LB is brilliant. A lot of analysts saying that we could look back on this pick as the best in the Draft. I guess I'll be a little cautious here, but I think this is a phenomenal value and a great pick. I originally wanted Malik Harrison here, but that was with the assumption that Wilson was already gone. Absolutely thrilled with the Wilson pick, really think he will be a star in Cincy.

It is the Bengals and they will probably find a way to screw it up, but I honestly don't think they could not have had a better draft to this point. Hoping to see Thaddeus Moss next round, get Burrow a TE he knows and trusts. Position of need and great value.

Well, first pick that I am not crazy about, mostly due to timing...LB Akeem Davis-Gaither from Appalachian State. I like that we are targeting the LB position and not neglecting it like we have for so long. And they got to see him in-person at the Senior Bowl, so there is that. But nobody was going to take him in the 4th, and you just watched two teams trade back and get value...if that is your guy, trade back to get another pick. That said, I do not hate the pick, looks super athletic and as said, we need all the help we can get at LB. Could be a guy to spy Lamar Jackson and cover TE's.

Wonder if Moss slips to the 5th round? Might trade up late in the 4th if he is still sitting there.

love this pick. advanced scouting at the senior bowl so they know more than most. also they need hyper athletic fast LB’ers to defend Jackson.

Heard on the radio that he played all year with a foot injury and still was 15th fastest overall player at Senior Bowl.

Needs to gain some weight.

My only qualm is where they took him, feel like they could have waited until the 5th or traded back into the 4th, but who knows. Overall a fan of it though, seems like a great prospect.

too many years of watching the Brown family spend meaningful time quibbling over paying someone what he's worth, dragging the signing into the pre-season and beginning their association with the team pissed off. Then come the piddly ass stunts - not flying charter, bring-your-own-towels locker room... it just goes on and on with this franchise.

Another great pick with DE Khalid Kareem from Notre Dame, very good DE in college and could be a good player for Cincy. Biadasz went in the last pick in the 4th and was hoping he would fall to us, but this is a great pick. Even though I had my fingers crossed on picking Moss with the need at TE, but I love this pick. Any way Moss falls to the 6th round? Probably not I would think, wonder if we plan on picking a TE in free agency like OJ Howard? That is about the only position we haven't addressed yet, aside from maybe OL, though I think with the return of Jonah Williams, picking up Su'a-Filo and some experience under Jordan's belt, the staff likes our OL heading into the year. The one thing I vehemently disagree with the staff on though is their faith in Bobby Hart, we needed someone there.
