Cincinnati Bengals (2013 Season)

Desmond Bishop released by the Packers today, would love to see us bring him in for a visit. I know he's played mostly 3-4 ILB for the Packers, but I think he's athletic enough to man the middle in a 4-3. Almost impossible for him to be a downgrade on Maualuga.

First episode of Hard Knocks is tonight

Pretty good show. I caught it on HBO for the first time. A little better uncensored than the NFL network version.

Not sure if it was honest, or editing magic, but Harrison seems to bring a whole different attitude to the Bengals. I was hoping they'd show who he went up against in the Oklahoma drill.

Green's knee injury looked a lot worse than a bruise, to me.

Had to feel bad for Larry Black - the DLineman who broke his leg and ankle. Hate to see anyone's season - and likely career - end like that.

On his first day as a Bengal on Friday, tight end Tyler Eifert lined up in more spots than a flip-flopping politician during a drip-dry rookie minicamp at Paul Brown Stadium.
But Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis approved this message as truth in advertising. The man who has spent 21 seasons in the AFC Central and North trying to defend those two-way threat tight ends that can catch and block, could barely contain himself at the end of the day.
"He's as advertised. What I was most impressed with is how he did a great job in the running game and the techniques he's being taught," Lewis said. "I know he can run and catch, and turn get-back shoulder plays and all those kinds of things that you have to do in tight spots in the NFL. I know he can do all that. But the other stuff was impressive today."

I hope they break the bank to make it happen, he's 25 years old and arguably the second best defensive player in football right now (behind Watt) playing at one of the most impactful positions on defense. Given Mike Brown's history I honestly wasn't optimistic that this would get done and figured we'd franchise him next year then he'd leave, but this is a good sound bite at least.

When you look up and down the roster, this team is stacked right now at everywhere but LB and S, and we're going to have to end up cutting some guys who will make other rosters. Not a bad problem to have.
