Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Wow, I have rooted for both the Bearcats and Buckeyes for a long while. I live in Columbus near campus so I haven't experienced the level of hate given off by some on the Interweb exposed here on its own before. Most fellow Buckeye fans I have know are glad for Cinci's success. Anyone mentioning enjoying seeing their "little brother" be "plunger raped" must have grown up during very traumatic conditions. Especially against a Tebow led Florida SEC team. Have you really let a couple Cinci BCS seasons get that under your skin? I'm not speaking to everyone, just the morons...
Um, you have no idea what you're talking about, so...basically, eat a dick.

As the plunger rapist in question, let me respond by saying f!ck UC. Forget the bandwagon fans in Cincy. Are you aware of the crap that UC's own administration has been pulling? If you truly read through this thread, then you would know of things like "Ohio's BCS Team" "bUCkeye country" scoreboard graphics and "bUCkeye country" t-shirts being sold at the university bookstore. Now follow that up with the gigantic community-wide tantrum that they're throwing because their coach left for an all-time top 5 program.

If they could have mustered up the dignity and self-confidence to enjoy their transitory little window of success without constantly baiting the big bear up the road, almost everyone on here would not have turned against their program.

I guess football in Ohio has just gotten that much more fun

Yeah, I'm familiar with the "bUCkeye state" swag. That started as a 700 WLW marketing campaign to shock people into noticing the program. In that regard it has been pretty successful. Any sports fanbase has its proportion of obnoxious jerks, and you can lurk any team's message boards to pull out ridiculous remarks. Gator fans don't think too highly of either team. I was just surprised to find this level of animosity towards a team the Buckeyes don't play. I'll take this whole thread as a sign of respect, if Cinci was irrelevant we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Its not the fans..... its the administration (and the fans).... if our flagship radio station pulled that shit I would be embarassed, If I saw t shirts like that I would be embarrased. When it started, (them winning) my thought was, all right another ohio team showing we have good football............... then I saw their antics and inferiority complex and now I have schotenfried (sp) at their situation....

Check your facts, it was the other way around. WLW began using it after the sUCk Ath Dept threw it out there as their campaign.

Does anyone else smell something? Smells like troll...

I could be wrong. I just noticed the radio ads much earlier than anything else. Does it really make a difference? When I attended there were usually just a few thousand people at football games and no one talked about the program. If it helps build interest then I'm for it. Soon you'll be trashing the Butch Jones hire and that wouldn't have happened before. Stay classy man...

Being 12-0 and #4 in the country should be enough to get respect. But you need some stupid t-shirts and slogans to "shock people into noticing the program?" Man, you guys need some help with your "little brother" complex.

And we're surprised to find such animosity from Cincinnati fans toward a team that the Bearcats don't play.

Trust me, you are now irrelevant again.

Isn't that pretty much the definition of irrelevance? Sounds like you need to take a few steps up just to reach legitimate "little brother" status.

NO! It started as an official scoreboard graphic in Nippert Stadium, Only then did WLW take it and run with it, which tell me that WLW had to have either explicit permission to use UC's graphic or at the very least tacit approval--i.e. no cease and desist letter was sent for the unauthorized use of the graphic. Not sure if the t-shirts were before or after WLW's use of the graphic, but the graphic itself was created within the University of Cincinnati.
