Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

I could be wrong. I just noticed the radio ads much earlier than anything else. Does it really make a difference? When I attended there were usually just a few thousand people at football games and no one talked about the program. If it helps build interest then I'm for it. Soon you'll be trashing the Butch Jones hire and that wouldn't have happened before. Stay classy man...

It started last year when the UC athletic department had an intro screen to their website. The screen said "Ohio's BCS team", clearly directed at Ohio State. This was when UC had the Big East wrapped up.

Unfortunately for the powers that be at UC, it was a clear display of their ignorance about the BCS system as they seemed to forget that there were at-large bids left to go out and TWO Ohio teams went to BCS games.

It was completely unwarranted and despite ending with egg on their face the athletic department continues to act like "little brother."

Geez - What happens if they beat Florida? All the "at least we beat an SEC team" talk will go on for months.

Only team in Ohio with SEC speed
Fastest team in the state
...etc

That would get grating fast.

As the plunger rapist in question, let me respond by saying f!ck UC. Forget the bandwagon fans in Cincy. Are you aware of the crap that UC's own administration has been pulling? If you truly read through this thread, then you would know of things like "Ohio's BCS Team" "bUCkeye country" scoreboard graphics and "bUCkeye country" t-shirts being sold at the university bookstore. Now follow that up with the gigantic community-wide tantrum that they're throwing because their coach left for an all-time top 5 program.

If they could have mustered up the dignity and self-confidence to enjoy their transitory little window of success without constantly baiting the big bear up the road, almost everyone on here would not have turned against their program.
My deep seeded hatred for those naked kitties was forged long ago, so I do not resemble this statement.

I'd still find that scenario about 1,000,000X less grating than another FL bowl victory over an Ohio team.

Personally, I can live quite comfortably with a little braggadocio from Cinci. I think it's kinda cute--like a chihuahua snarling.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the "bUCkeye state" swag. That started as a 700 WLW marketing campaign to shock people into noticing the program. In that regard it has been pretty successful. Any sports fanbase has its proportion of obnoxious jerks, and you can lurk any team's message boards to pull out ridiculous remarks. Gator fans don't think too highly of either team. I was just surprised to find this level of animosity towards a team the Buckeyes don't play. I'll take this whole thread as a sign of respect, if Cinci was irrelevant we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Respect is EARNED, not given.

Cincy hasn't earned shit and therefore SHOULDN'T BE TALKING SHIT.

Did someone say egg?
