Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

I’m anything but an expert, but I don’t understand UC’s play calling in the fourth quarter. The constant pass attempts gave Georgia lots of time to close the gap. In particular, third and two with 1:30 left seems like a bad time to go deep when all you need is a first down to end the game. Our defense gave us a chance to win, and our offense dropped the ball.

It was doubly odd with the backup LT and Ridder being a good runner. I'm sure they had a gameplan, but you definitely need to chuck it out in that circumstance.

As for Freeman, they had some fantastic blitzes, but the first 2-3 plays of prevent in that final drive were headscratchers. They only need a FG and you're conceding 7-10 yards with soft coverage. It was a really difficult situation to be in but not the right call.

Ultimately this was on the OC though and Fickell needed to have words to burn more clock.

On a day that could've been the Juggalos finest hour of football they mismanaged a game they should've won, then were upstaged (again) by Big Brother hours later.
Ohio State would have beaten Georgia by 50. Well, assuming they played to their ability. Just dissipointed we blew a chance to expose the SEC for the fraud it is. Unfortunately, OSU can't represent the North in every bowl.

While I thought that the juggalos deserved a spot in the playoff over ND, I'm happy they lost the bowl game. You god damn know that, had they won, there would have been a situation similar to UCF where some nobody organization that no one has heard of declares them national champions, and they would have taken that and gone full juggalo with it.

wont be seeing them back in top 10 for a minute. Freeman leaving is brutal for them and Fick. Probably have a decent year next year but going forward will be rough
Freeman leaving essentially kills them being nationally relevant, as that defense will be severely affected. UC can and probably will be dominant in the AAC, but on the national stage I don't see how they can still compete. But a nice 2020 season for them. Now try and keep Fickell if they keep having success

I expect to see Fickell at UC until ND opens, which, with the maniac up there could be any time (or a long time). Other than ND it would take a special situation for him to move (city he sees his family enjoying, fertile recruiting area, etc.).

As a kid attending St Mathias, a priest and several nuns asked me why I would support Ohio State over "our university" Notre Dame. When our 5th and 6th grade classes were moved to empty rooms at DeSales, I saw Notre Dame stuff on the walls. So, it would not surprise me if Luke Fickell might even take a head coaching job at Notre Dame and stay there, if ever offered. He's a good guy and I wish him well, but should he take over at Notre Dame and if they should play Ohio State, well, as a wrestler he will understand to protect himself at all times.

With ND in the CFP this year, the love affair with the school and the media bought Kelly more time there. I don't see Kelly leaving anytime, and if ND joins the ACC then he's really the only team that can compete with Clemson, and a win over Clemson almost ensures them a spot in the CFP. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that job if I were Fickell.
